Advantech Launches Direct-Soldered CPU CompactPCI Cards

The MIC-3321series are direct-soldered CPU CompactPCI Cards starting at $995.

(Cincinnati, Ohio – 11/03/2006) - The eAutomation Group of Advantech introduces the MIC-3321 series single and double layer 3U CompactPCI CPU cards engineered for high performance and reliability in critical applications. The MIC-3321 series combines the performance of Intel’s Mobile Pentium M 760 2.0 GHz processor, flexible integration with 915GM chipset, and the I/O Controller Hub ICH6. Also included are a RS-232 port, two USB ports, two LAN ports, and a VGA port.

The MIC-3321 series are designed with direct-soldered CPU and memory, providing less weight and higher shock vibration resistance than traditional socket devices. “When designing the MIC-3321 series, we wanted to fulfill one of the most demanding requests that customers have been asking. We were excited to achieve the direct-soldered CPU’s and also be able to provide units as small as 4 HP. In this new MIC-3321 series, there is a model to fulfill any application”, said Alan Su, Project Manager.

The MIC-3321 series offers three CPU grades. The MCI-3321 high performance Pentium M 2.0 GHz 512 DDR2 SDRAM to the MIC-3321C and MIC-3321L with Celeron M 1.0 GHz 800 MHz CPU with 512/256 DDR2 SDRAM.
