Advanced Placement Exam Registration 2017-2018

Taking the Advanced Placement exams is an important part of all AP courses. West Forsyth High School desires that all students take AP exams for the AP classes that they have taken. By scoring well on an AP exam, students can often earn college credit for their high school class, saving a significant amount on tuition.

College Board determines the cost of AP exams – not West Forsyth High School or Forsyth County Schools. This year each AP exam costs $94.00 (AP Seminar/Research Exam is $142.00). An additional $25.00non-refundable administrative fee is assessed on the first exam. Please note that students are also responsible for the $15.00 re-stocking fee per exam for any AP exam that is ordered but not taken.

Students enrolled in an AP STEM course will receive one AP STEM exam at no cost due to recent changes in the state legislature. The list of qualifying AP STEM exams is below:

AP BiologyAP ChemistryAP Physics 1

AP Calculus ABAP Computer Science AAP Physics C: Electricity and Magnetism

AP Calculus BCAP Computer Science PrinciplesAP Physics C: Mechanics

IMPORTANT: If you are taking an AP STEM exam (see list above), you will not be able to pay for your exams until after the AP STEM fee waiver has been applied. After registering online for your exams, we will apply the waiver to one of your AP STEM exams (this process could take up to 72 hours). After the fee waiver has been applied, you will receive an email with a new balance. You will then be able to go back to Total Registration and pay your fees online.

Students participating in the Free and Reduced Lunch Program should indicate so on their registration and provide a copy of their current approval letter in order to verify the student's qualification and apply the fee reduction. A copy of the student's current free and reduced approval letter must be provided to Matt Woodley, AP Coordinator at WFHS before Monday, February 12, 2018. If you do not have a copy of your current approval letter, please contact Joe Sanders at request a copy of your current free/reduced lunch approval letter.
