Adult Photographic Experience Day

Whatever your ability or interest in photography, whether you want to learn to take better photographs, are a seasoned professional looking for new subjects, or simply want to understand your camera better, our Photographic Experience Days are a must, providing an opportunity to capture some spectacular images of Marwell’s exotic and endangered species.

The experience offers you an exclusive day with our expert photographer, Jason Brownwithin the historic and picturesque setting of Marwell Zoo, unique views of our animals fromspecial access areas creating great opportunities for taking unique photographs, up closeand personal experiences with a variety of animals throughout the day.

Maximum of six participants per day

£ 200.00 per person

The Experience Day Includes:

•Entry to the park during opening hours on the day

•Exclusive photographic tuition from Jason Brown

•Tea, coffee and Bacon sandwich provided on arrival

•A variety of special photographic access areas to a variety of animal around thepark throughout your day

The Adult Experience Day Itinerary:

8.45am – Arrival and Welcome

Meet our photography expert at admission to Marwell Zoo and walk to the Hall

9.00am - Safety Briefing and Refreshments

Over tea and coffee at Marwell Hall, you'll meet your Marwell guide for the day.

You’ll be given an introduction and safety briefing which is essential given the exclusive access you’ll enjoy throughout the day. You will also have the opportunity to suggest areas you might like to focus on for your personal photographic development throughout the day

9.30am - Out and About

The group will head out into the park and be guided around a variety of enclosures at a relaxed pace, giving you time to enjoy the animals as well as taking some stunning photos. Jason will talk through photographic techniques as you go, you will also get to enjoy some special access areas these may include Tigers, Giraffes, Lemurs, Rhinos and get up to close to some of Marwell’s residents.

12.00pm - Lunch

The group will head back to the Hall where lunch will be waiting. Sit down to re-charge your batteries and discuss your morning session looking at the photographsfrom your day so far.

12.30pm - Out and About

The group will head out into the park again to finish exploring the zoo at a relaxed pace for the second half of your day,

Jason will once again talk through photographic techniques as you go, enjoying some more special access areas on the way around the park in the afternoon.

3.00pm De-brief and Free time in the Park

At the end of the day you'll head back to the Hall for the final time to look over your images and discuss your day. Though you'll be saying goodbye to your guides, the park will remain open and you'll be free to roam as you please within the public areas of the zoo until normal closing time.

•Marwell Wildlife is a registered charity, the money raised from these Marwell

Experiences helps fund the care of our animals in the park and our conservationprojects both in the UK and Africa.

•Please note photographic days are subject to availability.

•All Marwell Experiences must be pre-booked by calling 01962 770549

•To get the most from your experience and to ensure safety, please wear suitableclothing, including trousers (not shorts) and footwear, e.g. walking boots. Clothingshould be in neutral colours, no bright colours please as this may upset theanimals.

•It may be necessary, due to animal husbandry reasons, for participants to use adisinfectant footbath. Please ensure suitable, robust footwear is worn.

•Access to restricted or special access areas is subject to operational circumstancesand is liable to change at no notice on the day.

•As only a limited number of experiences are available, we advise you book as earlyas possible to avoid disappointment. Times may vary depending on season.

•Payment of £ 200.00 is required upon confirmation of booking. £ 150.00 of thispayment is non refundable. The payment is also non transferrable.

Terms and Conditions for the Adult Photographic day

•Due to animal health or staffing issues, Marwell cannot guarantee that theexperience day will go ahead as per the itinerary. Marwell will endeavour tocontinue with the event but in the event that the day cannot go ahead Marwellreserves the right to cancel the day and offer another date as an alternative or inthe event this cannot be accommodated Marwell will offer participants a full refund.

•The Itinerary is a guide and is subject to change at short notice and on the dayitself. The final itinerary will be designed to maximise opportunities for the bestpossible photographs on the day.

•The package covers a maximum of 6 guests and a minimum of 3 guests

•Payments are non transferrable and £ 150.00 of the payment is non refundable

•Payment is required in full on booking. If due to circumstances Marwell has tocancel the day a full refund will be given to participants, in the event participantshave to cancel the following cancellation fees will apply.

•Should the client wish to cancel their confirmed booking Marwell must receivenotification in writing and the following fees will be applicable

  • More than 14 days notice – £ 150.00 of the payment will be retained by

Marwell Wildlife

  • Less than 14 days notice – 100% of the total payment will be retained by

Marwell Wildlife

  • Failure to attend on the day - 100% of the total payment will be retained by

Marwell Wildlife

•Experiences include general admission for the participant; any additional guestsmay purchase tickets at admissions on the day for use during public opening hours. Theywill not be able to take part in the experience.

•Waiver of Liability – Marwell Wildlife accepts no liability for any person or body forany loss, injury or property damage from any action or cause whatsoeverundertaken at the park. Participants must abide by staff instructions at all times.

•Due to the nature of this day participants must be physically fit and suffering nosevere health problems. For insurance purposes, the scheme is only available tothose aged 16 years and over and unfortunately cannot accommodate wheelchairusers in this instance due to access restrictions in some of the special accessareas.

•Please be advised that it is your responsibility to inform us if you have any medicalcondition (e.g. pregnancy) that you or your doctor feel we should be aware of inorder to ensure your safety.

•Please note that for health and safety reasons, pregnant women will not be able toparticipate in this experience.

•Please do not apply if you have any convictions relating to animals.

•Please state any disabilities to enable us to try and adapt our encounters to suit

•Marwell wildlife has a zero tolerance policy for abusive behaviour or abuse towardsits staff, any guests acting in abusive manner towards a member of staff within thepark will be asked to leave the park.

•It is a condition of participation that guests observe all warning signs, do notventure over safety barriers and do not enter the parks off limit areas, unless instructed and supervised by staff. Any party member found not following any ofthe parks health and safety policies may result in the whole party being asked toleave the park

•Marwell Wildlife reserves the right to change the Photographic day experience atany time. If you have an experience day booked and changes are made between booking and to the date of your day no refund or reduction in price will be given.

Park Rules

When using our facilities we do ask that everyone observes the following park rules: -

•Do not feed the animals

•Do not cross the safety barrier

•Please keep the park tidy

•No pets in the park

•No radios

•Please do not use whistles

•No ball games

•No unaccompanied children allowed

Big Cat Twilight Photographic Experience

Our big cats are hugely popular and here is your chance to find out more about them fromthe experts – Marwell’s Big Cat team, whilst capturing spectacular images of Marwell’sexotic and endangered species in a completely different light and observe their behaviourafter the park is closed. Whatever your ability or interest in photography, whether you wantto learn to take better photographs, a seasoned professional, or looking to learn moreabout photographing animals at dusk then our exclusive twilight photographic evening is amust.

The experience offers you an exclusive afternoon and evening with our expertphotographer, Jason Brown within the historic and picturesque setting of Marwell zoo, andthe opportunity to view our big cats from both public and special access areas creatinggreat opportunities for unique photographs.

The Big Cat Twilight Experience Includes:

•BBQ dinner before big cat evening photo session begins

The Big Cat Twilight Experience Itinerary:

2.00 pm - Arrive and Welcome

Meet our photography expert at the main admission to Marwell Wildlife and walk to the

Hall

2.30 pm - Safety Briefing and Refreshments

Over tea and coffee at Marwell Hall, you'll meet the staff responsible for you foryour experience.

You will be given an introduction and safety briefing for the afternoon and eveningwhich is essential given the exclusive access you’ll enjoy throughout your day. Youwill also have the opportunity to suggest what areas you might like to focus on foryour personal photographic development.

3.00 pm - Out and About

The group will head out into the park and be guided around a variety of enclosuresat a relaxed pace, giving you time to enjoy the animals as well as taking somestunning photos. Jason will talk through photographic techniques as you go, youwill also get to enjoy some special access areas these may include Tigers,Giraffes, Lemurs, Rhinos...

4.30pm - BBQ dinner Evening brief

The group will head back to the Hall where your BBQ meal will be waiting for you.

Sit down to re-charge your batteries while Jason briefs you on the best techniques for photographing big cats, tricks and tips of the trade. You will meet members ofour big cat team who will talk to you about Marwell’s Big Cats and what to expectduring your special evening experience.You will also receive your participation certificates during this time.

6.00 pm - Exclusive Out and About Big Cat Time with Marwell’s big cat team

The zoo will now be closed allowing the group to enjoy exclusive parkaccess. You will head out into the park to capture some wonderful photographs ofsome of Marwell’s big cats in the evening light as they enjoy the last of the sun.

Marwell’sbig cat team will show you some special techniques that they use to workwith the big cats here at Marwell, so have you cameras ready!

9.00 pm– Finish
