Admissions Process for New and Returning Students Seeking an Online AA Degree

Thank you for considering ACC to further your education! Whether you are resuming college studies or just beginning to work toward your degree, you will find the variety of courses, the individual attention, and the supportive atmosphere at ACC provide a solid foundation for your higher education. The following steps will get you started on earning your degree.

1.  Complete the online admissions application. Make sure you select the Associates in Arts – Online degree program within the application.

2.  Begin the financial aid process, if needed.

3.  Contact Disability Services, if needed.

4.  When you receive your ACC welcome packet, promptly activate your My ACCess account so you can receive pertinent information regarding registration, financial aid, orientation, and current events. Click here for instructions on setting up your My ACCess account.

5.  Take the College’s placement test, or submit ACT or SAT scores that meet the College’s minimum requirements. If you receive transfer credit for English or mathematics courses, placement testing may not be required. If you are a returning student, and have already taken the College’s placement test, you do not need to retake the test.

6.  Submit your official high school transcript (or GED/Adult High School equivalent). High school transcripts are not required for students with an earned Associate degree or higher. If you are a returning student who previously submitted transcripts, you do not need to resubmit your transcripts unless your prior enrollment was more than five years ago.

7.  If you are seeking transfer credit or need prerequisite verification, submit an official transcript for colleges/universities attended.

8.  Contact an Online AA Degree Advisor to discuss the online AA degree and register for classes. You can “meet” with advisors in person, over the phone, or via email. Current advisors are Alexandra Marano and Sarah Bergmann.

9.  Complete the Online Student Orientation to familiarize yourself with our online platform, Moodle. If possible, attend an on-campus orientation to learn more about ACC and the resources available to help you achieve success.
