Administrative Assistant Position Job Description

A school administrative assistant is an individual who is responsible for the provision of immesearuable assistance the school, the administrator, teachers and the business manager. School administrative assistants perform general office tasks and meet a multitude of needs specific to a school environment.

Skills and Abilities required for consideration:

·  Familiar with school policies or procedures or the ability to learn school policies or procedures.

·  Able to operate a variety of office machinery.

·  Familiarity of computers including excel, word, website management, power point, publisher, and our online school management system.

·  Able to administer first aid in emergencies.

·  Should be dependable, punctual, and trustworthy.

·  Should display a cheerful, respectful, relaxed, and pleasing personality.

·  Should possess great love towards children.

·  Must be a faithful follower of Jesus Christ and active in a church body.

·  Self-motivated and able to multi-task.

Duties and Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

·  Writing and/or transcribing weekly newsletters, bulletins, email correspondence, and other materials using a computer.

·  Supervision of groups of students.

·  Greeting visitors to school, determining nature of business as well as directing visitors to their destination.

·  Filing and compiling student attendance and grade reports and other related school records.

·  Answering the telephone to provide the requested information, taking messages, or transferring calls.

·  Maintaining office supplies, ordering, and dispensing school supplies, when needed.

·  Talking to students about problems and directing students to the correct person to help them with their problems.

·  Collecting tuition payments.

·  Providing inquiry information to potential families and walking new families through enrollment procedures.

·  Helping to maintain the school calendar.

·  Securing substitute teachers as needed.

·  Scheduling appointments for parents with responsible school staff members.

·  Keeping a record of daily attendance and sending a daily attendance and reminders report.

Education and Qualifications

·  High school graduate with basic office skills.

·  Experience in office work preferred.
