This document provides you information about the account request and the VPN logon process to the Frankfurt Datacenter
Adding new user to the datahost
1, If you do not have an account yet on the datacenter portal, open the following link in your browser - and click on ACCOUNT REQUEST link under Account menu
2, A validation email is sent to you. Paste the validation id into the “Validation ID” textbox and confirm.
2, Fill it and save the form. The filled and saved form automatically forwarded data to the Data Center Security Teamas a request.
3, This request automatically generatestwo emails.
The first one is advising you that an administrator has to approve their request.
The second email is informing you that a `ticket` has been automatically created for your request and the ticket number is advised – (FRDC # 13346). This way you can track the status of the request by using the unique ticket number.
4, Once the DC Security team approved the account request, another mail will be sent out informing you that you need to download/print and sign the DC Policy and Procedure document.
5, After the filled and signed DCP Terms document received back to the DC, the DC Admin team is starting theaccount creation process. When this process finished the Administrator will send back a notification e-mail to you with an account name. In this process you get rights to the necessarily customers and servers on the DC portal and you can enable your VPN account.
6, If you need VPN access to the datacenter then you will need aspecial security Entrust card for 2 factor authentication. Each card has a unique serial number which is assigned to the user. The local project managersor your account manager (if you are not a micros employee) willsend this card for you.
7,Before you can connect to the datacenter with VPN, you need to enable your VPN account on the DC portal.On the DC portal use the Enable VPN Account link, then fill in the form.
The Time length defines for how long you can use that password what the system will generate for you
8, The form will generate and send a Validation e-mail or SMS (depending on what is configured for your account) with the Validation ID what you have to enter (or copy) to the Enable VPN Account Form:
9 ,If the Validation is successful the system will generate a new password.Be careful because this page will bedisplayed only once.In this page you find your new password for the VPN and the password expiration date. You can use this together with your Entrust card to access the datacenter with VPN
10,For the VPN connection you need install Cisco VPN Client package and the necessary profiles. These are downloadable form the DC portal the Download section.
11, As soon as you have the Cisco client installed, you have an active VPN account and a valid Entrust card, you can connect to the datacenter:
12, Enter the user name and that password what you got from the DC portal during the account enable process
13, Next step, you need the give that 3 characters from your Entrust card which are asked
14, As soon the code has been accepted you will get connected with VPN
