06-29-11 /
  • Added a Special Notes Tab – Use these word docs as a baseline for all special notes sheets in ACAD.
  • Added a Local Let Only Tab – As the tab says this area will only include items that would go into a Local Let Job.
  • Removed the Log Tab – The link to the long now can be found at the bottom of each page for your convenience.
  • Updated Maintaining Traffic – WZD-100 is now called WZD-100 SERIES
  • Updated Excavation, Earth, Modified – FixedTypo.
  • Deleted Two SP and replaced it with One: Deleted both the integraland non-integral curb and gutter Concrete Pavement Construction SP’sand replaced it withMiscellaneous Concrete Pavement Construction. – This change addressed the issue with including payment for joints in the MDOT standard pay item. Remember this is not to be used for mainline paving operations!
  • Updated Post, Flexible, Delineator, Modified – The pay item now isPost, Flexible, Delineator, Modified to mirror MDOT pay item plus our modified syntax. Added a comma between the words flexible and delineator.
  • Updated Installation of Street Name Signs Mounted to Square Tube Post Extension and Attached to U-channel Post – Changed pay item syntax and units.
  • Updated the RCOC Checklist Tab – Now there is a PDF with form fields that can be checked for putting together the proposal book. In lieu of printer boilerplate SP’s you can simply print the checklist for Spec Book review. ALL unique SP should always be printed in its entirety.
  • Added Meeting Sign In Form on the Standard Letters and Memos Tab.
  • Added Monthly Progress Report on the Standard Letters and Memos Tab.

  • Added a Welcome Page Tab – This will display important messages about RCOC FUSP’s and the MDOT 2012 SSM.
  • Updated Soil Erosions and Sedimentation Control to Division 2 – This SP now has Mulch Blanket, Temp for Restoration over winter.
  • Added Jointing Layout Plan for Portland Cement Concrete Pavement Intersectionsto Division 6 - This SP is intended to address concrete jointing on roundabouts.
  • Added Portland Cement Concrete Grade P1, RCOC Modifiedto Division 6 – This SP is similar to MDOTS P1 Spec and is becoming the norm for Conc Pavt jobs.
  • Updated Biaxial Geogrid – Now says, “Payment includes Test Data Certification” in measurement and payment.

  • Added Roadway Earthwork to Division 2 – This SP addresses topsoil in the ROW.

  • Updated Concrete Pavement Construction W/O Integral Curb and Gutter– Removed option to torch dry joints before sealing.
  • Added Blow Counting Measuring Device to Division 7 – This SP addresses requirements for contractor to provide equipment for RCOC inspectors.
  • Added Conc, Curb, Det E4, Modified– This Spec came from SID.
  • Added Post, Flexible Delineator, Modified to Section 8 – This spec makes payment more clear regarding post and reflector colors and sizes.
  • Updated Turf Establishment– Revised to properly address the requirements for storage of topsoil onsite.
  • Updated Strain Pole – Fixed Typo.
  • Added SID Tab – These SP are provided by Rick Saporsky in SID.
  • Added 03SP205B - Crushed Concrete to MDOT SP-SS Tab (Formerly named the Local Let Projects Tab) – This SP should never be used because it conflicts with RCOC’s Aggregate Base SP.

  • Added Shoulder, Cl II, 9 inch to Section 3 – This is an older spec that uses 21AA material for the shoulder.
  • Added Field Painting Of Galvanized Traffic Poles, Mast Arms and Bracket Armsto Section 7.
  • Added Biaxial Geogrid I to Section 8.
  • Deleted Concrete Sidewalk from section 8. The only difference with this SP and MDOT standard is thickness however MDOT allows a 7000 Series without a new SP for this type of change.
  • Added Ditch, Plain Cobble, Modified to Section 8 – This SP prohibits crushed concrete.
  • Added Sweepingto Maintenance Tab.
  • Added Joint and crack sealing to Maintenance Tab.
  • Added 03SP501H – Marshal Hot Mix Asphalt Mixture in the Local Let Projects Tab. This SP should always be used when using Marshal mixes.
