GUIDELINES AND APPLICATION FOR THE
JONESBORO BPW SCHOLARSHIP
To Whom It May Concern:
The Jonesboro Business and Professional Women organization is offering an educational scholarship to women who desire to further their education in a higher education program. Two scholarships will be in the amount of $500.00.
The applicant must:
1. Make written application to the organization.
2. Attend an accredited college or university.
3. Be a resident of Northeast Arkansas.
4. Meet the following guidelines as outlined below.
Qualifications to Receive the Scholarship
·The student will be working towards an undergraduate degree at an accredited college or university enrolled in a minimum of 9 hours of class work. On-line courses may also be approved as long as the educational institution providing the instruction offers classes that meet onsite (they cannot be an exclusive on-line/correspondence school).
·The student will have a minimum cumulative grade point average of 2.5.
Application Process
·Student will complete the attached application and submit to a BPW representative with a copy of their transcript (high school transcript for graduating seniors and college transcript for current college students). High school transcripts should include class rank information as well as cumulative grade point average.
·Student will also submit two letters of recommendation. These can come from teachers, other school officials, or leaders in the community with whom they have interacted. Letters of recommendation cannot be written by family members and must be submitted separately to the BPW representative.
·Students also need to submit documentation of their ACT or SAT scores.
·Deadline for all applications is: September 15, 2013
·Selection will be made by the BPW Scholarship Committee.
·Scholarship winner(s) will be recognized and award a check at the next regular meeting
·Scholarship checks will be made payable directly to the school the student is enrolled.
