Bulletin Connection

Jesus calls us all. He is the one eternal shepherd of the flock who always cares for his sheep. His followers look to him for guidance and direction. Following Christ’s example, the church sometimes speaks of itself as the flock of Christ, and of its leaders as shepherds who stand in for one true shepherd. Each year the Fourth Sunday of Easter is designated the World Day of Prayer for Vocations. Pray that the Lord will send more men and women to serve in the church.

“I firmly hope that, during the Nuclear Nonproliferation Treaty Review Conference to be held this May in New York, concrete decisions will be made towards progressive disarmament, with a view to freeing our planet from nuclear arms.” Pope Benedict XVI, January 1, 2010

There is a new Catholic Young Adult blog geared towards young adults. It is started by a reporter from Catholic New York. I skimmed through this site and what I like about it, compared to other Catholic blogs, is that it is not judgmental and full of vitriol. It is simple and makes you think. Please spread it around.

St. Joseph’s parishioners may directly deposit their contributions electronically through Parish Pay which enables you to make regular donations through automatic deductions to your checking, savings accounts, or credit card accounts.
We encourage use to enroll via the ParishPay website https://www.parishpay.com/ under St Joseph West Village link.
Both the parish, and you, our generous supporters, benefit tremendously from this program.
ParishPay provides a steady stream of revenue for the parish, and enables funds to be collected, recorded, and deposited efficiently and effectively. Also, this revenue becomes a steady source of income, not subject to the fluctuations that our regular Sunday collections exhibit, and helps us plan and manage parish finances and activities more efficiently.
And you, the parishioner, benefits with a record of your annual giving. It will also let the donor make and annual Parish gift and pay this gift over the entire year. It eliminates the need for writing a weekly check or making a cash gift through the offering plate each week. Parishioners may increase or decrease these gifts as their circumstances allow.
Our ministry knows that many parishioners wish to give generously and regularly. ParishPay provides the vehicle for this faithful generosity.

Please call the Rectory and inform us if you know of anyone who is homebound, feeling the effects of old age or is ill and not able to attend mass. We will be happy to visit them on a regular basis and provide them with the sacraments at home. Call 212 741-1274

Please note that we have a new listing Parish Activities. Please visit our website washingtonsquarecatholic.org for the latest news on the NYU Catholic Center, St. Joseph’s Parish, and links to other Catholic organizations and interests.
Please send your announcements and events to be included in the bulletin and web:
