Activity 1 – Understanding different formats

1. Create as image with the steps learnt.

a. Open a new file with the image size “1024*768” (imageA). Create the gradient background with the “Blend Tool”.

b. Open the “Schbadge” file (imageB). Use “Selection Tool” to select the “School badge”. Copy the selected “school badge”.

c. Go back to the imageA, open a new Layer and paste the “school badge” to the new Layer.

d. Select the “Text Tools” and add school name to the bottom.

2. Save the file as XCF and JPG.

3. Close all the files.

4. Open the two files again

a. Add the text “I am <class> <Your name>”.

b. Change the school name to “<school name> students are the best”.

5. Save the files.

6. Share with your classmate and complete the work sheet below:

What is the file format?
What is the Size of the file used in GIMP2?
Can you modify the image by adding text to it? / YES / NO / YES / NO
Can you modify the image by editing the text? / YES / NO / YES / NO

1. Create an image by using GIMP2 like the file of Activity 1.

2. Requirements are:

a. Image size = 1024(W) * 768(H) / b. Use your own photo.
c. Use gradient background. / d. Add your name in the picture.

3. Write down the steps and effects that you used to the worksheet.

Activity 3 – Group sharing on others’ works

1. Share with your group mates and complete the work sheet below:
