Travel to Reading

Maps

Maps of Reading and the different campuses.

By plane

Reading is very close to London, therefore any of the London airports can be used. Closest is Heathrow – just 45 minutes away by direct bus link, RailAir.

Second closest is Gatwick – ca. 1 ½ hours by direct train.

Luton and Stansted are both a bit further away and will require you going through London. Both are, however, easily accessible by train and tube. For more information, see Stansted and Luton.

Times for trains can be checked and tickets for trains can be pre-booked.

By train

Reading is on two major train lines and has regular connections to London, Birmingham, Bristol and Wales, Plymouth and Bournemouth and Southampton. There are also minor train lines to the surrounding country side.

Train times can be checked and tickets for trains can be pre-booked on any of the train websites for the UK.

By coach

The National Express stops in Reading on its way from London to Bristol.

By car

Reading is close to the M4 and is most easily accessible by coming from there. More information about how to get to Bulmershe Campus.

See also other maps of Reading and the campus.

Getting from the train station to Bulmershe Court Campus

There are two buses going to Bulmershe Court Campus from the train station: the 63 and the 42; the 63 being the faster option. There are also taxis. More information and cheap taxis.

Accommodation

On Campus

There are a limited number of rooms available at Black Horse House on the Whiteknights campus which is a 25 minute walk from the Bulmershe campus or 10 minutes by the shuttle bus which travels between campuses in the morning from 8.15 am to 9.45 am and also in the evening from 4pm to 6pm.

Tel: 0044 (0)118 378 8906

Alternatively, there may be a small number of rooms available in Bulmershe Halls. However, please note, since March 20th is the final day of term the majority of students will still be in occupation and communal areas will reflect this. If you wish to pursue this option, please contact Bulmershe Hall main reception/enquiries.
