Program Description

I.Introduction (purpose, rationale, how this topic is innovative, and why this topic is important to our profession). (300 word limit)

II.Relevant Conceptual/Theoretical Framework (brief overview of literature): In this selection please provide a brief overview of the relevant literature and any relevant theoretical frameworks. Explain the connection. (300 word limit)

III.Method of Program Presentation(300 word limit):

  1. Research Session – Please provide a detailed description of methods, techniques, or modes of inquiry. Please also provide a description of data sources, evidence, objects, or materials.
  2. Extended Session – An Extended Session is a lengthier program filling an entire 2-hour block. These sessions provide Convention attendees with an intensive learning experience in a specific area. By providing more time, presenters can explore a topic in more depth. Extended Session submissions should provide a justification for the lengthier session, including a strong conceptual framework and a detailed agenda
  3. Competency-Based Session – These 75-minute sessions are focused on the 10 professional competency areas from ACPA/NASPA. Presenters will have an opportunity to provide an in-depth perspective on one of the professional competency areas that will enhance participants’ knowledge and understanding of that competency.
  4. All other programs – Please provide a detailed outline of session via bullet points. This can include the following: Time allocations for various components, Audience level of engagement, Ability for participants to apply knowledge, Opportunities for participants to assess learning outcomes.
