SCRIPTURE MEMORIZATION – DOING YOUR BEST FOR JESUS
During the month the sunbeams are working on the Achievement Emblem, have them learn the following verse:
“Work hard so God can say to you, “Well done.” Be a good workman, one who does not need to be ashamed, when God examines your work.”
II Timothy 2:15 (Living Bible-Paraphrased
The following techniques could be used:
· Have the sunbeams stand in a straight line. At the beginning of the line each girl individually should step forward and begin saying the verse and continue down the line until the end, including where it’s found.
· Write the words on individual pieces of paper for each team. Divide the sunbeams into teams and have them put the words in proper order.
· Put words in balloons and have the sunbeams break the balloons and arrange the words accordingly.
· Draw lines for each word on a white board and let the sunbeams insert the word that is missing. You might want to start them with a few words. Have the sunbeams fill in the blanks with the Scripture verse that they have memorized.
· Have the sunbeams form a circle and start reciting the scripture verse, if the sunbeam does not know the next word she steps out of the circle. Continue until the verse is completed.
