Achatz Handmade Pie Co Welcomes Ann Arbor Store
Achatz Handmade Pie Company is pleased to announce the opening of our eighth retail store at 2643 Plymouth Road in the Traver Village shopping center in Ann Arbor, MI
A family-owned Michigan company, we started baking from our home in Armada in 1993. After moving our operation to a nearby ten-acre apple orchard, Achatz Handmade Pie Co. was officially born. To this day we've maintained our high standards to produce a pie that we believe is simply the best.
Achatz pies are made with pure and natural ingredients. We never use chemicals, preservatives or hydrogenated oils and we purchase as much of our fruit, flours, sugar and dairy from local Michigan farms as we can.
Achatz Handmade Pie Co. is honored to have been named one of Bon Appetit's Top 10 Best Places for Pie and one of Food & Wine magazine’s Favorite Places for Pie! Our pies have also been featured on Food Network, the Rachael Ray Show and Good Morning America Weekend.
We have pies to suit all dietary preferences. We never use lard, so all of our fruit pies are vegetarian. For vegans, all of our double crusted fruit pies, with the exception of our Double Crusted Apple, are made with no dairy or animal products (our apple pie contains a small amount of butter). If you can't have sugar, we have fruit juice sweetened pies available. We also offer several varieties of wheat free fruit pies.
Like our metro Detroit area pie shops located in Armada, Beverly Hills, Chesterfield, Oxford, Shelby, Sterling Heights and Troy, our Ann Arbor store will offer fresh fruit pies and cream pies as well as frozen pot pies for you to heat and enjoy at home. And our frozen soups and chilis made by our sister company Achatz Soups from Scratzch are perfect for tailgating.
The Ann Arbor store will be open Sundays 8 am to 5 pm; Mondays through Thursdays 8 am to 8 pm and Fridays 8 am to sunset. Like all of our pie shops, the Ann Arbor location will be closed on Saturdays. Our family is Seventh Day Adventists and we enjoy this special day of rest.
In keeping with our commitment to the environment, we’ve incorporated many recycled items into our new store. See how many you can identify when you visit!
On Veteran’s Day, Friday, November 11, all Achatz Handmade Pie Co. stores will show our heartfelt thanks to those who have served our country in the armed forces by giving all veterans a free goodie bag and a 50% off discount on their purchases that day.
