Dear Parents of the Class of 2018,
Welcome! We are delighted to share with your son or daughter a very busy and exciting year filled with opportunities for leadership, responsibility, and growth. Below is a preliminary list of events. You will be notified of changes or additions as needed throughout the year. Please keep this list for quick reference. If you have any questions, do not hesitate to contact your student’s homeroom teacher.
September 14: Court in the Schools, 9:00-10:30 A.M. in the cafeteria; parents are welcome.
September 18: School picture day. 8th graders must get their picture taken, but they do not need to purchase them. Yearbooks must be ordered through Kaiser Studios on the picture order form on this date.
September 25: Parent program by Dr. McEvoy at 7:00 P.M. in the cafeteria. Please join us for this outstanding program which your students will be hearing in school. We strongly encourage you to come!
October 3: High School Night at 6:30 P.M. in the cafeteria.
October 9-13: Middle School R.O.C.K.S. Week
October 20: Challenger field trip- all day; we will need parent chaperones.
October 25: Brother Rice/Marian Olympics, 2:00-6:00 P.M.; parent drivers will be needed.
October 27: Halloween Dance, 7:00-9:00 P.M. in cafeteria; volunteers needed.
November 2: 8th grade Retreat all day at St. Mary of the Hills; host families needed for retreat presenters from Net Ministry.
November 7: No school; parent–teacher conferences.
November 9: Evening parent–teacher conferences.
Early January: Formal 8th grade pictures, details will follow when available.
Early January: Auditions for the 8th grade play; parent volunteers needed throughout the rehearsal period and to head committees.
March 23, 24, and 25: 8th grade play- Friday and Saturday 7:30 P.M. curtain; Sunday 2:30 P.M. curtain with strike and cast/crew party following strike (dismantling of set and equipment).
May 4: Spring Dance, 7:00-9:00 P.M. in cafeteria; volunteers needed.
May 31: 8th Grade Blessing Mass at 9:00 A.M. at St. Mary of the Hills Church.
June 4, 5, 6: Final exams, all ½ days.
June 6: Awards Evening from 6:00 -8:30 P.M. at St. Andrew’s Catholic Church.
June 7: Graduation Mass and Reception; St. Mary’s of the Hills Church and Great Hall; 7:00 P.M. Mass; students arrive at 6:30 P.M.; reception at 8:30 P.M.; dance to follow.

None of these events would happen without all your hard work, time, talents, and generosity. Truly we are blessed to be a part of this community! Thank you!
