Background: ThelateGeorgeE.BradywasamemberofAGAfrom1957until1996. He servedastheBostonChapterPresidentofAGA(1964-1965). GeorgegraduatedfromBentley Collegein1933andwenttoworkforUnitedFruitasanaccountant. In1941hejoinedthe federalgovernmentasanaccountant. In1954George appliedfor his CPAlicense where hehad todemonstrate thathehadthe requisite twoyearsof public accountingexperience. Atthattime, governmentservicewasnotautomatically acceptedaspublicaccounting experience.Georgemet withthelicensingboardandsuccessfully demonstratedthathis13yearsofgovernmentservice hadexposedhimtothesameexperiencesencountered by publicaccountants. Asaresultofhis tenacity,theboardgrantedhimhisCPAlicense. Hewasthefirstpersontohavegovernment servicerecognizedaspublicaccountingexperiencebythelicensingboard. Georgeretiredin June 1973as Chief of the BostonBranchOffice, ContractAuditDivision,Auditor General, USAF after31years ofgovernment service.

Eligibility:

Applicant must be an AGA–BostonChaptermemberorimmediatefamily(spouse/child) of themember.

 Applicant must be (orwill be) enrolled for2017 in an institution ofhighereducation with no limitationas toeducational major.

AwardCriteria:Recipients will beselected based on scholastic achievement, leadership qualities, extracurricularactivities, referenceletter, and writing ability.
