Job purpose
To work with Prima Group tenants to bring about social change and improve the quality of life in their local area. To work with communities to empower them to develop activities and services to generate aspiration and confidence.
To work with resident’s groups to develop projects that will attract external funding. Identify, support and work with residents who wish to be involved in projects with the Association. To administer resident involvement policies and to promote good practice. To use feedback from residents to influence service delivery.
Key Accountabilities
  • Provide the framework across the Group to develop and implement local neighbourhood plans to enable proactive service provision, partnership working to improve services, training and welfare to work opportunities for tenants, and identify development or service opportunities for Prima
  • To work with partners to deliver programmes that will work with people to help them into work through additional advice, work placements and targeted training. With specific initiatives to support young people leaving care, and other vulnerable groups and people who are out of work with a health condition.
  • To work with resident’s groups across the Group to support and promote the work of the residents’, arrange and deliver training as necessary to enable tenant involvement with the Group.
  • Work with Housing Officers to identify opportunities for involvement, to assist to deliver consultation and resident involvement on specific issues and projects.
  • Lead across the group to develop activities and services to generate aspiration and confidence within communities
  • Identify, support and work with residents who wish to be involved and to support their development to participate fully at their chosen level of resident involvement.
  • To organise, run and address community based meetings in line with policies and procedures to ensure the delivery of agreed objectives.
  • Organise and procure facilities to run locally based events to engender community spirit and improve the appearance of neighbourhoods
  • To lead and co-ordinate staff to produce publications including newsletters, leaflets and to contribute to the annual report.
  • To collate monitoring information and provide evaluation on all projects delivered in line with HACT or other monitoring tools to demonstrate value for money
  • To bid for external funding to facilitate distinct projects to improve tenant capacity within neighbourhoods
  • To build excellent relationships with both internal colleagues and external partners to facilitate the delivery of business plan objectives
  • Work to involve hard to reach tenants to ensure there is full opportunity for all residents to participate in the work of the Association.
  • To contribute towards service improvement, including policy and performance reviews and highlighting best practice.
  • Represent the Group at appropriate community events/ meetings.
  • To undertake any other duties in order to achieve personal, team and organisational objectives following consultation with your manager.

Person specification

Essential / Desirable
Qualifications /
  • Minimum of 5 GCSE’s grades A-C or equivalent with one each in maths and English
  • Full driving license and use of a car for work

  • Evidence of continued professional development.

Experience /
  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience of working within a public/private sector environment delivering customer services/training events/pathways to work
  • Experience of networking and delivering projects with statutory, voluntary or partner agencies
  • Experience of working with residents and community groups
  • Experience of using Microsoft office software
  • Experience of working alone and organising workload accordingly
  • Experience of using HACT
  • Experience of securing external funding for projects
