Accessing Your Quarter One Math Electronic Curriculum Map

About the U Drive

  • The U Drive consists of two folders:
  • the Staff folder
  • the Student folder
  • Previously, you could find math resources on the FCPS Teach website or the elementary math website. You can still find all previous resources and links on the FCPS Teach/Elementary Math website for the 2010 school year and prior as an archived site.
  • Currently materials for 2011- 2012 will not be uploaded to this site, the U drive will take the place of this.
  • Teachers do not have rights to save or make changes to materials on the U drive.
  • You are however permitted to upload files/materials for Curriculum Specialist review under the following folder:
  • U > Staff > Submissions> Elementary > Math
  • In the staff folder you will be able to find curriculum specific folders that house curricular materials.
  • Materials for elementary math could include but not limited to:
  • ActivInspire flipcharts
  • Word Documents
  • Movie files

Getting Your Computer Ready

  • You will need to have the newest version of ActivInspire open on the computers you will be using the curriculum maps on.
  • Log-in to the computer.
  • Open up the Application Menu.
  • Click on the Productivity folder.
  • Click on ActivInspire.
  • Wait for ActivInspire to update.
  • Once it has updated, close out of ActivInspire by clicking the red X in the top right-hand corner.

Make a Copy of the Electronic Curriculum Map (ECM)

  • You will need to make a copy of your specific grade level electronic curriculum map.
  • It is very important to make your own copy of your electronic curriculum map onto your desktop or onto a flash drive and use it from there.
  • For ALL grades: Go to the U Drive > Staff > Elementary > Math > 2011-2012 >
    Your specific grade level folder Quarter 1 ECM
  • Open the Quarter 1 ECM folder.
  • There will be a folder inside of the Quarter 1 ECM folderthat you will need to do the following to:
  • Right click on the folder.
  • Select Copy.
  • Paste it onto your desktop or a flash drive.

Accessing Your Quarter One Math Electronic Curriculum Map (ECM) The file name will be different at each grade level.

  • Go to the place you copied your electronic curriculum map. (Either on your desktop or a flash drive)
  • Open the flipchart as indicated below based on the grade you are teaching:
  • Note: We will have a consistent file path for all future quarters.
  • Pre-K:1Q_PKECM.flipchart (The file is located at the top of the Q1 PK folder)
  • Kindergarten: Kindergarten Bundle Q1.flipchart (It is the first file under the Assessments folder in the Quarter 1 folder)
  • 1st Grade: Q1First Grade Bundle Q1.flipchart (The file is located at the top of the Quarter 1 folder)
  • 2nd Grade: A Second Grade Bundle Q1.flipchart (The file is located third from the bottom in the Second Grade Bundle Quarter 1 folder)
  • 3rd Grade: 3rd Grade Bundle Q1.flipchart (The file is located in the bottom third of the Third Grade Bundles folder. Look carefully, it is buried.)
  • 4th Grade: 1Q_4ECM.flipchart (The file is located at the top of the Q1 G4 folder)
  • 5th Grade: 1Q_5ECM.flipchart (The file is located at the top of the Q1 G5 folder)

Exploring Your Electronic Curriculum Map (ECM)

  • The map is structured similarly to an interactive website.
  • Click on the various links to access materials.
  • Links will be indicated by either a blue arrow that shows up when the word is hovered over and/or…
  • blue underlined words.
  • Use the back arrows to navigate back to the Main Menu.
  • Use the blue underlined links in the bottom left-hand corner of some pages to get back to the Sub Categories. Example:
