Access to a Dedicated Web Site for Managing the Data;

I have been researching the Schools Water Efficiency Program (SWEP) and believe our school can benefit by being part of this innovative program. The SWEP brochure and www.myswep.com.au website details the benefits of participation for schools.

SWEP provides schools with access to monitor daily water use through a dedicated website designed with the input of teachers and facilities staff. By monitoring water use and acting on leaks and issues as they occur, our school will save water and money as well. Not only are there financial benefits, participating in SWEP will identify <insert school name> as environmental leaders in our community.

The program requires a three-year commitment by schools, for which our school will
receive:

· Up to two data loggers fitted for free, additional loggers are at cost. There is no disruption to water use at any time;

· Access to a dedicated web site for managing the data;

· Unlimited staff and administrative access;

· Access to a specially designed curriculum resource for students available via the website. This resource addresses English, math, science and sustainability issues for primary and secondary students;

· Teacher assistance and training can be provided where necessary, however the program is designed to be simple to use and access, and

· For a limited number of schools, one of the data loggers can be connected to a school’s rainwater tank(s). For these schools, the plumbing costs for metering the rainwater tank(s) will also be met by SWEP.

There are no upfront costs to the school; however the total program costs for participating is just $300 (plus GST) over the three years, payable by installments of $150(plus GST) in the second and third years.

Registering the school can be done online at www.myswep.com.au and the SWEP team will then make the necessary arrangements for the installation of the data loggers. Registration can be completed in a few minutes if this proposal is approved.
