Access Statement for Oak & Beech Cottages.
Oak and Beech cottages are situated in the countryside. There is no public transport available within 1.5 miles. Personal transport is therefore required. The nearest towns are Tenby (10 miles), Narberth (10miles),
Carmarthen (20 miles), Haverfordwest (20 miles) and villages are Amroth (1.5 miles),Kilgetty (4 miles), Saundersfoot (8 miles), St.Clears (8 miles).
The entrance is through a single 10ft gate onto a level courtyard large enough to turn a vehicle round. Vehicles may be unloaded right outside the front doors of both cottages but must then be parked in the car park, which is 30 yds. maximum, from the front doors, again on level ground. There is ample room to park and turn in the car park. There is movement sensitive lighting covering the courtyard, car park and front doors operative from dusk ‘til dawn.
There is a step, maximum 8 ins., at both front doors and also at the back door of Oak Cottage but Beech back door is just a step over the standard door threshold and then a small step up to the patio area. Also, both front porches have a wooden handrail to one side to aid access. A temporary ramp can be provided if required. There are no internal steps.
All doors, internally and externally, are standard 2ft.6in. width. Light switches are at approx. 4ft.6in. The main room and bedroom are fully carpeted and the kitchen and bathroom are tiled. All walls are painted with coloured matt and the doors are all wooden with the exception of the back and front doors, which are half double - glazed. There is ample central lighting in all rooms with additional table lamps. The smoke and CO2 detectors and alarm are audible and situated in the main room. The shower has a 900mm. quadrant base within a standard cubicle and is fitted with a single vertical grab rail. A frame support is available for the w.c. if requested. The kitchen units, sink and cooker are standard height with high - level wall cupboards as well.
