Accept your invitation to join Phi Beta Kappa, the nation’s most prestigious academic honor society
Dear <First Name>,
On behalf of <Institution Name>'s Phi Beta Kappa chapter, I am incredibly pleased to invite you to join Phi Beta Kappa, the nation’s most prestigious academic honor society which dates back almost to our nation’s founding. We have selected you based on your exceptional academic achievement in the liberal arts and sciences as well as the depth and breadth of your study. Congratulations on your invitation. You, your family members, and your peers should be very proud of this accomplishment.
An invitation to join Phi Beta Kappa is an extremely rare honor. Only 10% of U.S. colleges and universities have Phi Beta Kappa chapters. Those chapters invite only the top 10% of arts and sciences graduates to join, making Phi Beta Kappa membership one of the most highly regarded distinctions an individual can receive.
Phi Beta Kappa extends well beyond undergraduate distinction. It also offers connection to its vast and exceptional membership in nearly every career field. Listing Phi Beta Kappa on your résumé reflects your outstanding achievement as well as your ability to think critically and solve problems, traits in demand from today's employers.
Phi Beta Kappa’s storied history continues with you. By accepting Phi Beta Kappa's invitation, you share membership with some of the most accomplished individuals throughout our nation's history as well as today's innovative thought leaders and decision makers. Phi Beta Kappa counts among its members 17 U.S. Presidents, 39 U.S. Supreme Court Justices, nearly 140 Nobel Laureates, noted scientists and researchers, CEOs and technology executives, civic and non-profit leaders, authors, athletes, and artists –all who share Phi Beta Kappa's spirit of learning for all of life.
To accept our invitation, please register online visit www.pbk.org and choose New Member Registration under the Membership tab. You will need to enter our chapter passcode, <Chapter Passcode> when prompted. All invited students should register before <Date>. After you accept your invitation, we will forward information about our induction ceremony, an event that celebrates student success.
The attached/enclosed brochure will tell you even more about Phi Beta Kappa and the many ways you can continue your involvement after your undergraduate experience. We would be happy to answer any questions you may have. We look forward to welcoming you into Phi Beta Kappa and celebrating this honor with you. Congratulations again on your invitation – you’ve earned it through your hard work here at <Institution Name>.
Warmly,
