If a teacher recommendation is required for class placement, teachers will consider: attendance, work ethic, organization, and social maturity.

The principal will have the ability to override this policy on an individual student basis should he/she feel the student has the ability to be successful. If this is the case, a parent contract will be required.

Dear Parent/Guardian,

Your child, ______scored in the range necessary to qualify for taking Pre-Algebra in 7th grade. This is a great accomplishment and we are very proud of your child. A lot of factors contribute to the success of a student in mathematics. One factor is the student’s dedication to hard work. If a student is not willing to put forth the time necessary to do homework and study their success will not be as great as possible. Another factor is school attendance. Students must be present on a regular basis to receive classroom instruction to maximize their success. The maturity level of the student and their ability to keep assignments, due dates and study schedule organized is also very important.
