The President’s Lunch at the House of Lords will be held this year onWednesday 31 January 2007.
Speaker – Professor Lord Anthony Giddens.
The Learned Societies are able to block book tables for the President’s Lunch, at a discounted rate – ten places for the price of nine (£315 per table of ten, giving you a 10% discount) Individual places will cost £35 each.

Call for Papers Deadline: 31 December 2006
The 2007 Regional Studies Association international conference will address “Regions in Focus?”. The venue is the Alameda da Universidade, Lisbon, Portugal and the timing is the week prior to Easter 2007. The full call for papers is currently being finalized and will be available shortly on the website. The deadline for submissions will be 31st December.

The aim of the conference is to expose examples of where the exchange of research knowledge is occurring in less obvious areas of the arts and humanities, demonstrating that a rich undercurrent is indeed at work and utilising some interesting tools and tactics for success.
The conference will be of particular interest to academics, research support staff and external organisations/business wishing to pursue research partnership. It will offer a chance to see how people and ideas are brought together and maintained, as well as a chance to solicit interest in your projects or ideas through the Research Exchange Card boards on the day.

Reflections on European Integration:
50 Years of the Treaty of Rome
Venue: Foreign & Commonwealth Office, London, UK
Date: 23 – 24 March 2007
This high profile event has been organised to coincide with the 50th anniversary of the signing of the Treaty of Rome in 1957. The two day conference, co-funded by the European Commission, will provide an occasion to reflect on the evolution of European integration over the 50 years since the Treaty of Rome was signed and the dynamics that have underpinned this evolution.
