Study on night view representation of ancient architectural color in china

ABSTRACT

Chinese ancient buildings existed for thousands of years. People have formed a deep impression on the color characteristics of ancient buildings in long-term aesthetic consciousness. However, how to express the ancient architectural colors in line with people’s cognitive habits about ancient buildings in the night view, which means the ‘authenticity’ in the night view research of medieval architectural, there is no targeted basis and recommendations.

The study plan of this article combined with the ancient buildings’ strong color characteristics and illumination light color performance characteristics to conduct integrated studies about night color performance evaluation, in order to acquire the conclusions of the preliminary study in the application of Chinese ancient building lighting research. Meanwhile, provide theoretical basis for the reasonable color expression to ancient architectural lighting.

Lighting energy consumptions in a building are more than 30% of the total electricity energy consumption [1]. In fact, lighting control is an important factor for energy savings. In these days, various lighting control systems have been developed and applied for energy savings and comfortable lighting environment in a building.
