The Nurse-Patient Assignment: Purposes, Decision Factors and Steps of the Process

Stephanie is currently in her last semester of the PhD program at the University of South Carolina. She has worked as a staff nurse, nurse manager, nurse educator and clinical instructor in SC, FL, NY, DC, MD and Japan. She credits her numerous opportunities to her 18 years as an Army spouse. She is a former Navy Nurse.

Teresa V. Hurley, DHEd, RN

Medication Calculation Ability of Baccalaureate Nursing Students: The Learning of Medication Calculations

Teresa V. Hurley, DHEd, RN is an Associate Professor of Nursing and the Nursing Skills Course Coordinator at Mount Saint Mary College. Her clinical background is in critical, acute, and elderly care and her research focus is on professional characteristics and indicators of academic success. She has been recognized for her research and scholarly achievements by A. T. Still University and Assessment Technologies Institute and for her teaching excellence by The National Society of Leadership and Success.

Susan Craig Schulmerich, BS, MBA, DHEd, RN, BC-NE

Predictors of Reading Abilities and Critical Thinking in Baccalaureate Nursing Students

Dr. Schulmerich has extensive clinical, administrative, and educational experience in a variety of venues. She is widely published on clinical and administrative topics and has lectured nationally and internationally to eclectic audiences. She has testified before Congressional subcommittees and select committees on healthcare provider issues; she was invited by the Japanese Health Ministry to introduce healthcare providers on how the Medicare and Medicaid systems operate in the United States.

Marilyn Lashlee, DNP, RN, PNP, CPON

Evidence Based Practice Programs: How U.S. Magnet Hospitals Are Getting it Done.

Marilyn recently graduated from Northeastern University with her doctorate in nursing practice. She has experience as both a nurse practitioner and clinical nurse specialist, spending most of her career caring for children and adults with cancer. Her love of teaching inspired her to pursue a doctorate and she is now enjoying yet another facet of nursing as a faculty member of the Mount SaintMaryCollege Division of Nursing.
