About the Cooks River Alliance (Alliance)

The Alliance unites six councils in the Cooks River catchment (Canterbury-Bankstown, Inner West, Georges River, Strathfield, Rockdale and the City of Sydney) who work together with communities to improve the Cooks River catchment.

The Position

The Participation Coordinator is responsible for the scope, management, coordination and delivery of a broad range of internal and external participation activities and projects, in particular, to deliver tangible catchment outcomes under our Caring for Country grant project. Participation includes communication, education, community development, engagement and events with Aboriginal consultative committees and other organisations and individuals.

The core duties of this role include, but are not limited to:

·  Scope, develop, manage and deliver a range of effective internal and external stakeholder participation and capacity building activities and projects both at a strategic and operational level

·  Develop relevant strategies and plans

·  Build and maintain collaborative, consultative and strategic networks and working relationships with and among internal and external stakeholders

The Participation Coordinator reports to the Project Manager – Cooks River Alliance and forms part of the wider General Manager’s Unit.
