ABOUT COCKEYSVILLE FOOTBALL:

The Cockeysville Football program promotes safety, fair play, skill development, good sportsmanship and the enjoyment of the game of football for all players. We believe that the values learned on the field have a far-reaching effect on the lives of our children.

Registration for the 2016 season is currently open and notices are posted by the Cockeysville Recreation & Parks Council and flyers distributed to local public schools, by signage throughout the Cockeysville community, and on our website at

Cockeysville Football currently participates in the Blue and Gold Divisions of the Upper Chesapeake Youth Football League (“UCYFL”). We field teams according to age from 5 to 14 years of age. Please refer to our age/weight chart under “Forms” on our website. All teams, including our clinic group, are full contact.

We field at least one team in each of the following age groups in the Blue/Gold Division: 5-6 (“Clinic”), 7/8U, 9U, 10U, 11U, 12U and 13/14U. Team placement is determined by a player’s age as of August 1rst. This is an “unlimited weight” for age groups 9 and up currently.

Another playing option exists only at the 8U age group, called a “tackle to tackle” (T-T). If your child weighs more than 85lbs. with equipment but less than 100lbs., he may participate as a T-T player on the interior offensive or defensive line from tackle to tackle.

CRC Football is a travel team. We play our home games at County Home Park (“CHP”). The season is a 9-week regular season followed by a 3-week play-off. All CRC Football age groups practice together beginning July 25th for the 2016 season. In August, practices are held at CHP on Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays from 6-8 PM. Once school is in session, we practice on Tuesdays and Thursdays (and some of the older groups may practice on Fridays) from 6-8 PM. Game schedules are provided by the UCYFL League in late August and distributed immediately upon receipt.

During the dog days of August, Coaches are evaluating players and positions and children are learning the fundamentals of the game giving it their all and their time, sweat and effort. For these reasons, vacations-- especially extended vacations--are strongly discouraged. Football is a team sport that requires all players to be present.

The following equipment is provided to each player: practice pants and jersey, shoulder pads, helmet, and game pants. We will again be offering for purchase player game jerseys that the player will keep at the end of the season. Players must provide their own cleats, protective cup, and colored attachable mouth guard. A deposit check is required on the equipment. The deposit check is not cashed but held until the end of the season. If the equipment is returned as instructed at the end of the season, your deposit check is returned to you.

An awards banquet, free of charge to all players and Coaches, is held at the end of the season. All players receive participation trophies at the end of the season at the banquet.
