(Level3) Childcare Practitioner
SALARY:
HOURS OF WORK: 37 ½ Hrs per week
RESPONSIBLE TO:Five ChildcareManager
Purpose of Job:
- To provide an accessible play based curriculum for all children attending Nurseryprovision.
Childcare Responsibilities
- Responsible for the creation of a stimulating and caring environment working toward the achievement of outstanding grade in relation to achievement of the five outcomes for children.
- To work within the EYFS framework, and take part in child observations and activity planning.
- To work within appropriate legislative frameworks
- To take part in centre assessments
- To promote the achievements of all children in our care through monitoring and evaluation of your work.
Health and safety
- To be responsible for personal health and safety as appropriate, and to ensure that all activities planned for children meet with required standards
- To ensure Nursery equipment and environment is kept clean and safe.
- To record any incidents as per company policy.
Safeguarding
- Toensure complete compliance with Five Children and Families Trust Child Protection, and other procedural guidelines relating to safeguarding.
- To take part in all relevant training

Person specification:
Qualifications
- Childcare NVQ Level 3 qualification or equivalent
Essential Criteria
- Knowledge of Every Child Matters and how it applies to your practice
- Experience of EYFS requirements including child observations and activity planning
- Knowledge of Ofsted Standards for Care
- Knowledge of child development
- Understanding of health and safety
- Understanding of safeguarding children procedures
- Excellent communication skills with parents and children
- Knowledge and experience of working in teams
- Evidence of working flexibly
- Commitment to excellent service delivery
Desirable
- Basic First aid qualification
- Food Hygiene certificate
