(Level3) Childcare Practitioner

SALARY:

HOURS OF WORK: 37 ½ Hrs per week

RESPONSIBLE TO:Five ChildcareManager

Purpose of Job:

  • To provide an accessible play based curriculum for all children attending Nurseryprovision.

Childcare Responsibilities

  1. Responsible for the creation of a stimulating and caring environment working toward the achievement of outstanding grade in relation to achievement of the five outcomes for children.
  2. To work within the EYFS framework, and take part in child observations and activity planning.
  3. To work within appropriate legislative frameworks
  4. To take part in centre assessments
  5. To promote the achievements of all children in our care through monitoring and evaluation of your work.

Health and safety

  1. To be responsible for personal health and safety as appropriate, and to ensure that all activities planned for children meet with required standards
  2. To ensure Nursery equipment and environment is kept clean and safe.
  3. To record any incidents as per company policy.

Safeguarding

  1. Toensure complete compliance with Five Children and Families Trust Child Protection, and other procedural guidelines relating to safeguarding.
  2. To take part in all relevant training

Person specification:

Qualifications

  1. Childcare NVQ Level 3 qualification or equivalent

Essential Criteria

  1. Knowledge of Every Child Matters and how it applies to your practice
  1. Experience of EYFS requirements including child observations and activity planning
  1. Knowledge of Ofsted Standards for Care
  1. Knowledge of child development
  1. Understanding of health and safety
  1. Understanding of safeguarding children procedures
  1. Excellent communication skills with parents and children
  1. Knowledge and experience of working in teams
  1. Evidence of working flexibly
  1. Commitment to excellent service delivery

Desirable

  1. Basic First aid qualification
  2. Food Hygiene certificate
