The Senior Goalkeeping Coach will be responsible for implementing and delivering the Club’s Goalkeeping Strategy.
Main Responsibilities/Description of Duties: (Bullet Points)
Responsible for /
  • The development of long term strategies to ensure the successful recruitment and development of elite goalkeepers for all our squads.
  • To develop and implement a Goalkeeping Coaching Curriculum in line with the Club philosophy covering technical and tactical aspects, ensuring these are delivered and reinforced through effective coaching and mentoring.

Specific Tasks /
  • To prepare the Professional goalkeepers for all training sessions and matches.
  • To monitor and report on the performance and progress of all goalkeepers, evaluating against established and agreed goals.
  • To foster a positive environment for learning and development within the goalkeeping team.
  • Work closely with Youth Academy goalkeeping coaches so that the transition of players from Academy to Professional Squads is managed.
  • With the assistance of the Player Recruitment Team, identify and scout potential goalkeeping target players.
  • Complete all administrative tasks including updating and utilising The Sports Office and monitoring of all goalkeeper records.
  • The development of goalkeeping coaches delivering all sessions for the Youth Academy.
  • Evaluate the goalkeeping provision within the Youth Academy to ensure consistent delivery of the Goalkeeping Coaching Curriculum.

General Tasks /
  • Attend all Football Management Team Meetings.
  • Ensure all qualifications are maintained through a programme of CPD and any training needs identified through appraisal.
  • Manage & recruit the part-time goalkeeping coaches in the Youth Academy.
  • Attend fixtures as assigned by the Manager.
  • Carry out any other reasonable duties that may arise or be assigned by the Manager.

Experience/Qualifications/Training
Essential:
QUALIFICATIONS
Goalkeeper License (or equivalent);
Valid UK Driving license.
EXPERIENCE
Experience of GK Coaching in an elite environment;
Experience of designing and implementing GK development programmes;
Experience working in a multidisciplinary environment.
SKILLS
Excellent interpersonal skills and relationship management;
Able to communicate effectively (written and verbal) with players, staff and senior management;
Ability to work as part of a team and on own initiative;
Strong interactive / people skills;
Excellent IT and presentation skills;
