Christmas and New Year Buses, Trams and Trains 2011/12

With the Christmas and New Year holidays approaching, here’s how the bus, tram and trains will be running over the festive period.

NCT Buses

·  Friday 23 December – normal weekday timetable on all routes, including late night ‘N’ buses until 3.15am

·  Saturday 24 December – normal Saturday timetable on all routes with last buses between 19:00 and 20:00. No late night ‘N’ buses.

·  Sunday 25 December – No buses

·  Monday 26 December – Special service on Queen’s Drive Park and Ride only (06:00 – 20:00). No buses on other routes.

·  Tuesday 27 December – a Saturday timetable on all routes. No late night ‘N’ buses.

·  Wednesday 28 December – a Saturday timetable on all routes, with a normal weekday timetable on Citylink 1, Citylink 2 and Skylink. No late night ‘N’ buses.

·  Thursday 29 December – a Saturday timetable on all routes, with a normal weekday timetable on Citylink 1, Citylink 2 and Skylink. No late night ‘N’ buses.

·  Friday 30 December – a Saturday timetable on all routes, including late night ‘N’ buses until 3.15am. A normal weekday timetable on Citylink 1, Citylink 2 and Skylink.

·  Saturday 31 December – normal Saturday timetable on all routes with last buses between 19:00 and 20:00 and special late night buses until 3.15am

·  Sunday 1 January – No buses

·  Monday 2 January – a Saturday timetable on all routes. No late night ‘N’ buses.

·  Tuesday 3 January – normal timetables resume on all routes

Christmas Eve and New Year’s Eve Last Buses

A normal Saturday timetable will operate on Christmas Eve and New Year’s Eve on all routes, with last buses between 19:00 and 20:00.

On New Year’s Eve, NCT will be running our late night buses through until 3.15am

Trent Barton Buses

·  Christmas Eve – normal Saturday service with last buses around 7pm, indigo will run until midnight

·  Christmas Day – No service.

·  Boxing Day – buses will be running during shopping hours on calverton connection, H1, ilkeston FLYER, indigo, pronto, rainbow 1, rainbow 3, rainbow 4, red arrow, skylink, the mickleover, the nines, the sixes, the two, X38, xprss(via Radcliffe)

·  27 December – Saturday service will run until midnight, indigo will run 24/7

·  28 December – Saturday service will run until midnight, indigo will run 24/7

·  29 December – Saturday service will run until midnight, indigo will run 24/7

·  30 December – Saturday service will run including buses after midnight, indigo will run 24/7

·  New Year’s Eve – Saturday service will run until 8pm, except for services that have weekend night buses where most buses will run up to around 3am. indigo will run 24/7

·  New Year's Day – buses will be running during shopping hours onrainbow 1, rainbow 4, the mickleover, the sixes, the two, xprss(via Radcliffe) indigo & skylink will run 24/7.

·  2 January – Sunday service will run.

·  3 January – back to normal services

The information given below is how East Midlands Trains have planned to run over the Christmas and New Year holiday period. However, the recent poor weather conditions may mean that these plans need to be changed at short notice. Trains will be finishing earlier in the day than usual on Christmas Eve (Saturday 24 December). This shows the final direct East Midlands Trains services. Also, the 05:45 & 06:37 London St Pancras International to Sheffield trains will start from Derby, and the 18:00 London St Pancras International to Corby train will terminate at Kettering.

·  28 December – A normal weekday service will run, except for the following trains which are cancelled:
- 05:57 Sheffield to London St Pancras International
- 07:26 Derby to London St Pancras International
- 17:45 London St Pancras International to Derby
Also, the 18:00 London St Pancras International to Corby train will terminate at Kettering.

·  29 December – A normal weekday service will run, except for the following trains which are cancelled:

- 07:26 Derby to London St Pancras International
- 17:45 London St Pancras International to Derby

(Please note that Monday 3 January 2011 is a Bank Holiday as New Year’s Day falls on a weekend. Tuesday 4 January is also a Bank Holiday date in Scotland).

·  New Year’s Eve – A normal Saturday service will run on all 'local' routes.
A normal Saturday service will run on all routes to/from London St Pancras International until approximately 17:30, then will be disrupted due to engineering work between Wellingborough and Loughborough.

The last direct trains to London St Pancras International are as follows:
- From Sheffield at 16:35
- From Derby at 17:18
- From Nottingham at 17:02
- From Leicester at 17:53
- From Corby at 17:17
The last direct trains from London St Pancras International are as follows:
- To Leicester at 16:00
- To Corby at 17:17 (a bus connection is available at Kettering with the 17:30 departure from London)
- To Derby / Sheffield at 17:25
- To Nottingham at 17:30
Later connections will be available, but will involve bus services between Bedford, Leicester and East Midlands Parkway.

·  New Year's Day – Trains will start later in the day than usual (from approximately 08:30).
A reduced service will run to/from London St Pancras because of engineering work.
A shuttle train service will run between Corby and Kettering.
Local services via Derby/Nottingham will start later in the day than usual, then a Sunday service will run

·  2 January – Sunday service will run.

·  3 January – back to normal services.
