Monster Mite Tournament

Monsters On Ice Festival
March 19-21, 2010
Games:
* U8 will play 1/2 ice, 5-on-5, regulation nets with goalies as long as
all teams agree and have appropriate pads. Since the goalie position will
be a new element this year and not previously communicated, should any
registered team be unable to suit a goalie, festival organizers recommend
that all teams will play without a goalie.
* U6 will play 1/3 ice, 5-on-5, small nets, no goalies
* Schedule type - set vs. round robin
Players (existing rules set by AAHA):
*Birth year cutoff for the MOI Festival is 01/01/2002 (8 yrs old). We
have 18 cross-ice mites as well as girls U10, girls U12, squirt, and
peewee players that will need to be informed they are ineligible to play in the MOI festival. Should/could we do something else for them, separate from the weekend?
* No "A" level players are allowed to play - we have a player a Mite A
that dropped down to cross-ice.
*We will be re-aligning teams which means swapping jerseys (?); in
theory not a problem but may upset some parents
Budget:
* Printing (welcome, large schedule, and programs) Does AAHA have a preferred vendor

* Goody bags (snack, cup/water bottle, crayons and activity book, monster
tattoos)

*Participation medals (~150) vendor?

Above are the general rules for the Monster on Ice Torment. AAHA board modified the age limit; 9-year-olds who are not playing Mite A or Girls U10 will be permitted to play in this tournament.

Kerry Arndt

Frigid Frolic

Kerry presented several ideas for the annual fund raiser. Kerry will assemble a committee to work on this annual event under the supervision of the Vice President who is responsible for fund raising.

Kerry will report back to the AAHA board later in the year with a final decision by the committee

Distributed revised player evaluation/selection policy for the board to review, make any changes and suggestions. This will be reviewed at the March, 2010 board meeting and voted upon then.

Treasurer: Susan Bush

Funds have dwelled due to a lack of sponsorship money, and unpaid skater fees. All skaters fees must be paid by playdowns or the skater will not skate unless arrangements have been made with the registrar prior to playdowns.

House Director: Tom Reese

Preliminary review of ice time for 2010-2011 season. AAHA hopes to start conditioning on Sept 20, Tryouts 9-27. (These dates are tentative until AAHA meets with AFIC in June, to secure ice time that is needed).

There will be no ice bought on Christmas Eve, or New Years Eve by AAHA.
