INTRODUCTION

The Ministry of Science and Technology (MOST) is a governmental agency that is responsible for the formulation and implementation of national science and technology R&D Plans. One of its importantmissions is to strengthen international cooperation in science and technology with other countries, especially with developing countries. Since 1989, internationaltechnical training workshop/courses on varioussubjects have been conducted in China every year under the auspices of MOST as a part of its international scientific and technical cooperation programs.

2014 Courses on Comprehensive and Practical Technique of Agricultural Machinery, sponsored by Department of International Cooperation of MOST, organized by Shandong Agricultural Machinery Research Institute, will be held in Jinan, China during October 20–November 8, 2014.

COURSES DESCRIPTION

  1. Objectives

Let the participants know about the present status and developing trend of China agricultural mechanization, China policies, laws and standard system on agricultural machinery, learn the achievements of China agricultural machinery and agriculture sustainabledevelopment, visit and investigate agricultural industrialization bases and agricultural machinery manufacture enterprises in Shandong, in this way get usefulexperiences, improve the comprehensive and practical technique and management level of agricultural machinery in their own countries. Promote bilateral and multilateralcivilianintercourses and trade cooperation with other countries, promote international exchange of agricultural mechanization, strike up friendship of the countries.

Part1Lecture

  1. Present status of agriculture equipment manufacture industry
  2. China industrial management and policy, laws and standard system of agricultural machinery

  5. Comprehensive and practical technique of crop harvest
  6. Present status and development trend of agricultural mechanization in China and some developed countries
  7. The status and trend of oversea grain combine harvesting machinery
  8. Structure, principle and application of tractors

Part 2Practice and visit

  1. Professional visit to enterprises of agricultural industrialization and agricultural machinery manufacture, and some agricultural universities in China
  2. Investigate Shouguang vegetable base, typical village of Shandong Province
  3. Visit large agricultural machinery Expo
  4. Sight-seeing of famous sceneries

QUALIFICATION

Applicants should

  1. be from developing countries of Asia, Africa and Latin America, or from pre-USSR, Eastern Europe countries (Who are from developed countries should cover their own expenses)
  2. have a Bachelor’s Degree and be a specialist or enterprise manager or sales manager or government officer in the field of agricultural machinery
  3. have a minimum of 3 years’ working experience
  4. be capable of speaking and writing in English
  5. be in good health and under 45 years of age (Specially, can be older)
  6. Applicants should complete the enclosed application form with signature and return back to the organizer before June 1, 2014
  7. Applicants should submit a report on the present status of agricultural machinery development in their own country and the potential cooperation opportunity with China, any problem existing in the agricultural machinery used in their country and theirtechnique or market demandfor agricultural machinery.
  8. Submit a health certificate
  9. The second circular will be sent to the participants with a formal invitationby August 31, 2014.

EXPENSES

  1. International travel expenses will be borne by the participants themselves (round trip tickets between his/her home country and JinanAirport or Jinan Railway Station).
  2. Registration fee is not necessary.
  3. Chinese government will cover the expenditure of accommodation, local transportation and training expenses during the courses in China for the participants from developing countries. However, participants are advised to have some pocket money for personal purpose such as distance call or daily necessities and so on.

CERTIFICATE

Participants who have completed study successfully in the training courses will be awarded a certificate issued by the Department of International Cooperation of MOST.

NOTICE

  1. The health certificate must be valid, provided by authorizedphysician or hospital.
  2. The deadline for the Application Form will be June 1, 2014.
  3. The participants should bear his/her medical fee by himself/herself if needed during the courses.
