Scholarship Application

Scholarship Purpose:

To support a registered nurse in the advancement of evidenced-based practice and research who is interested in improving cancer care by developing personal knowledge on how to facilitate research, initiate clinical inquiry and promote evidenced based practice in oncology nursing care. This may include quality improvement work and sharing this new knowledge with colleaguesby attending the 12thAnnual Seattle Nursing Research Quality Improvement and Evidence Based Practice Conference, Monday, January 30th and Tuesday, January 31, 2017 at the Lynnwood Conference Center.

Scholarship Awards:

• Five ONS/PSONS members will be awarded $225 scholarships for the 2017 Seattle Nursing Research Conference registration
• Each recipient will receive their award by providing a receipt of registration and CE certificate as proof of attendance

Scholarship Applicant Qualifications:

1. Registered nurse involved in cancer nursing
2. Employed as a RN in one of the Washington Counties -King, Pierce, Snohomish, Island, Kitsap, Thurston, Skagit and Whatcom served by PSONS
3. Member of ONS and PSONS continuously for a minimum of one yearat the time of application
4. Describe how scholarship will make a difference in your nursing practice
5. Complete biographical information sheet and essay
6. Applicant can receive this scholarship only once

Please consider applying for a Ellen DeBondt Memorial Poster Development Scholarship to share your ideas and findings with other oncology nurses at the Puget Sound Oncology Nursing Symposium.

An independent review committee will select the recipients and notification will occur by November 11, 2015.
