A RESOLUTION memorializing the life of Louise Isham Dean and adjourning the House of Representatives in her honor and loving memory.

WHEREAS, Louise Isham Dean was the daughter of the late Joshua and Ora Peavler Isham of Mercer County, Kentucky; and

WHEREAS, Louise Isham Dean was an active and well-respected member of her community. She was a member of Toastmasters and she retired from Corning Glass after 31 years of dedicated employment. She was a member of the Harrodsburg United Presbyterian Church where she was an elder and very active in all activities; and

WHEREAS, Louise Isham Dean was Poet Laureate of Harrodsburg and Mercer County and published a book of poetry entitled "Footprints in the Sand" in 2011; and

WHEREAS, Louise Isham Dean was a charter member of Road to Recovery where she drove cancer patients to treatments for 20 years. She was a Regent of the Jane McAfee Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution for six years, was past Chairperson of the Community Service Department of the Woman's Club of Harrodsburg, and she was an active member of Harrodsburg Historical Society and James Harrod Trust where she was named Volunteer of the Year 2006-2007. Louise Isham Dean was awarded the Mercer County Chamber of Commerce Charles H. McGinnis Good Citizen Award in 2007 and was appointed Honorary Guardsman of the Kentucky National Guard in 2008; and

WHEREAS, Louise Isham Dean was the devoted wife of the late William H. "Bill" Dean and was the loving mother of Lieutenant Colonel Julia Ann Dean; and

WHEREAS, Louise Isham Dean departed this earthly life on January 10, 2013, at the age of 90 and left behind many friends and family who mourn her loss;

NOW, THEREFORE,

Be it resolved by the House of Representatives of the General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Kentucky:

âSection 1. The House of Representatives expresses its most profound sense of sorrow and proffers its sincerest condolences to the family and friends of Louise Isham Dean.

âSection 2. When the House of Representatives adjourns this day, it does so in honor and loving memory of Louise Isham Dean.

âSection 3. The Clerk of the House of Representatives is directed to transmit a copy of this Resolution to the office of Representative Kim King for delivery to the family.
