A RESOLUTION adjourning the Senate in loving memory and honor of Josephine Cantrell.
With deepest respect and admiration, we pay homage and tribute to Josephine Cantrell, and we pause in silent reverence for her soul.
WHEREAS, Josephine Cantrell was born on July 21, 1927, a native of Rome, Georgia, and longtime resident of Elkhorn City, Pike County, Kentucky, and she traversed these earthly bounds on January 31, 2003; and
WHEREAS, Josephine Cantrell was the loving daughter of the late Charles Monroe Manning and Layuna Kinsey Manning, and she was the devoted wife of Willie Robert "Red" Cantrell; she was the loving sister of Amerine Dodd of Rome, Georgia, and she was preceded in death by a sister, Ruthell Arnold; she also leaves behind a loving brother-in-law, Charles Cantrell, and a loving sister-in-law, Zelma Cantrell, both of Elkhorn City; she was the proud aunt of two loving nephews, George Cantrell of Pikeville and Larry Cantrell of Louisville, and two loving nieces, Sharon Whitaker of Green Cove Springs, Florida, and Gypsy Cantrell of Elkhorn City; and she also leaves behind several loving nieces and nephews of Rome, Georgia; and
WHEREAS, Josephine Cantrell was an esteemed member of the Pike County community where she was a devout member of the First Church of God in Elkhorn City, where her funeral service was held on February 2, 2003, and her burial was in Johnson Memorial Park in Pikeville; and
WHEREAS, the passing of Josephine Cantrell has left a void that cannot be filled, and she is mourned across the length and breadth of the Commonwealth;
NOW, THEREFORE,
Be it resolved by the Senate of the General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Kentucky:

Section 1. The Senate does hereby express its utter and most profound sense of loss and bereavement upon the passing of Josephine Cantrell, and extends to her family its most heartfelt sympathy.
Section 2. When the Senate adjourns this day, it does so in loving memory and honor of Josephine Cantrell.
Section 3. The Clerk of the Senate is hereby directed to transmit a copy of this Resolution to Mr. Willie Robert "Red" Cantrell, 1023 West Russell Street, P. O. Box 501, Elkhorn City, Kentucky 41522.
