A RESOLUTION adjourning the Senate in loving memory and honor of Colleen Hudson McCormick.

With deepest respect and admiration, we pay homage and tribute to Colleen Hudson McCormick, and we pause in silent reverence for her soul.

WHEREAS, Colleen Hudson McCormick was born on September 16, 1983, a native of Louisville, Jefferson County, Kentucky, and longtime resident of Morehead, Rowan County, Kentucky, and she traversed these earthly bounds on January 15, 2001; and

WHEREAS, Colleen Hudson McCormick was the adored daughter of Allen Keith McCormick and Beverly Hudson McCormick; she was the loving granddaughter of her paternal grandmother, Joann Reed McCormick, of Danville, Kentucky, and her maternal grandmother, Joyce Doner Hudson, of Morehead, Kentucky; and she was the loving sister of two brothers, Keith Allen McCormick, of Clermont, Florida, and Kyle Matthew McCormick, of Morehead, Kentucky; and

WHEREAS, at the time of her premature passing, Colleen Hudson McCormick was a devout member of Faith Presbyterian Church, and she excelled as a senior at Rowan County High School in Morehead, Kentucky; she was a member of the Governor's Scholars, an educational program for Kentucky's best and brightest high school students; she was the recipient of a Presidential Scholarship at Morehead State University, and a member of the Rowan County High School Academic Team; she was a former member of the soccer team, and she was a PSI instructor and cancer center volunteer; and

WHEREAS, the passion, dedication, intelligence, and social consciousness Colleen Hudson McCormick brought to this Commonwealth will never be forgotten; a life spent worthily should be measured by deeds, not years, and through her compassion, enthusiasm, and genuine love and concern for her fellow man, Colleen Hudson McCormick is worthy of the highest commendation; and

WHEREAS, the passing of Colleen Hudson McCormick has left a void that can never be filled, and she is mourned across the length and breadth of the Commonwealth;

NOW, THEREFORE,

Be it resolved by the Senate of the General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Kentucky:

Section 1. The Senate does hereby express its profound sense of sorrow upon the passing of Colleen Hudson McCormick, and extends to her loving family and many friends its most heartfelt sympathy.

Section 2. When the Senate adjourns this day, it does so in loving memory and honor of Colleen Hudson McCormick.

Section 3. The Clerk of the Senate is hereby directed to transmit a copy of this Resolution to Mr. and Mrs. Allen Keith McCormick, 170 Hill-N-Dale, Morehead, Kentucky 40351.
