A RESOLUTION Adjourning the Senate in Loving Memory and Honor of Anthony T. Tony Curnutte

A RESOLUTION adjourning the Senate in loving memory and honor of Anthony T. "Tony" Curnutte.

With deepest respect and admiration, we pay homage and tribute to Anthony T. "Tony" Curnutte, and we pause in silent reverence for his soul.

WHEREAS, Anthony T. "Tony" Curnutte was born on May 11, 1962, a native of Ashland, Boyd County, Kentucky, and longtime resident of Catlettsburg, Kentucky, and he traversed these earthly bounds on January 17, 2002; and

WHEREAS, Anthony T. "Tony" Curnutte was the loving son of Watt T. and Connie Wechsler Curnutte, and the loving brother of Lora Williams of Cookeville, Tennessee; he was the devoted husband of Karen Coombs Curnutte, and the adored father of Lauren Curnutte; and

WHEREAS, Anthony T. "Tony" Curnutte was a graduate of Georgetown College and Southern Seminary in Louisville, and at the time of his passing, he was a veteran sportswriter and copy editor at "The Daily Independent" in Ashland; and

WHEREAS, Anthony T. "Tony" Curnutte will be remembered not only for his many accomplishments and the friendships he made and sustained through the years, but also his compassion for and understanding of the common man which he demonstrated daily throughout his life; he was a devout Christian and member of First Baptist Church of Flatwoods, where he was an associate pastor, and he also was the Baptist Student Union campus minister for Ashland Community College; and

WHEREAS, the passing of Anthony T. "Tony" Curnutte has left a void that cannot be filled, and he is mourned across the length and breadth of the Commonwealth;

NOW, THEREFORE,

Be it resolved by the Senate of the General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Kentucky:

Section 1. The Senate does hereby express its utter sense of bereavement upon the passing of Anthony T. "Tony" Curnutte, and extends to his family and many friends its most profound and deepest sympathy.

Section 2. When the Senate adjourns this day, it does so in loving memory and honor of Anthony T. "Tony" Curnutte.

Section 3. The Clerk of the Senate is hereby directed to transmit a copy of this Resolution to Mrs. Karen Coombs Curnutte, 1164 Miller Street, Raceland, Kentucky 41139.
