A RESOLUTION adjourning the Senate in honor and memory of Staff Sergeant Christopher Todd Stout.

With deepest respect and admiration, we pay homage and tribute to Staff Sergeant Christopher Todd Stout, and we pause in silent reverence for his soul.

WHEREAS, Staff Sergeant Christopher Todd Stout, of Worthville, Kentucky, was born on January 1, 1976; and he traversed these earthly bounds on July 13, 2010; and

WHEREAS, Staff Sergeant Christopher Todd Stout was the devoted husband of Misty Stout; he was the loving father of Jacqueline, Audreanna, and Kristin; he was the beloved son of Billy and Sharon Neuner; he was the caring brother of Nathan Neuner and Diane Fisher; and he leaves behind many other family members who loved him dearly; and

WHEREAS, Staff Sergeant Christopher Todd Stout was a graduate of Carroll County High School; and he was an accomplished singer and enjoyed preaching at Worthville United Pentecostal Church; and

WHEREAS, Staff Sergeant Christopher Todd Stout joined the Army on December 7,1997, and served much of his career as a Rigger with the 782nd Main Support Battalion and other quartermaster units in Fort Bragg, North Carolina; he re-classified to become a Chaplain’s Assistant in September 2006 and was serving in that capacity in Afghanistan with the 1st Battalion, 508th Parachute Infantry Regiment, 4th Brigade Combat Team, 82nd Airborne Division, Fort Bragg, North Carolina; and

WHEREAS, Staff Sergeant Christopher Todd Stout is remembered by Captain Ludovic O. Foyou as a man whose "immensely pure love for his fellow paratroopers epitomizes the Spirit of the Army Chaplain Corps"; and

WHEREAS, the life of Staff Sergeant Christopher Todd Stout ended prematurely of wounds sustained when insurgents attacked his unit with rifle, rocket propelled grenade, and small arms fire in Kandahar, Afghanistan; and

WHEREAS, Staff Sergeant Christopher Todd Stout’s awards and decorations include the: Bronze Star Medal, Purple Heart, Army Commendation Medal with two Bronze Oak Leaf Clusters, Army Achievement Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Afghanistan Campaign Medal with Campaign Star, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, Army Service Ribbon, Overseas Service Ribbon, NATO Medal, Combat Action Badge, Parachute Rigger Badge, and three Army Good Conduct Medals; and

WHEREAS, the Commonwealth of Kentucky has the highest respect for Staff Sergeant Christopher Todd Stout and is deeply grateful for the ultimate sacrifice he made for the freedom of all Americans; and

WHEREAS, the passing of Staff Sergeant Christopher Todd Stout has left a void that cannot be filled, and he is mourned across the length and breadth of the Commonwealth;

NOW, THEREFORE,

Be it resolved by the Senate of the General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Kentucky:

Section 1. The Senate does hereby express its profound sense of sorrow upon the passing of Staff Sergeant Christopher Todd Stout and extends to his family and many friends its most heartfelt sympathy.

Section 2. When the Senate adjourns this day, it does so in loving memory and honor of Staff Sergeant Christopher Todd Stout.

Section 3. The Clerk of the Senate is hereby directed to transmit a copy of this Resolution to Misty Stout, 6351 Rannock Drive, Fayetteville, North Carolina 28304; and to Billy and Sharon Neuner, 5107 18 Mile Creek Road, Westport, Kentucky 40077-9782.
