A RESOLUTION adjourning the Senate in honor and loving memory of Sandy Boyd.

WHEREAS, Sandy Boyd was a son of the Commonwealth, having been born in Dana, Kentucky, on January 26, 1949, the cherished son of Wilford and Lillian Jarrell Boyd; and

WHEREAS, Mr. Boyd proudly served his nation in the United States Army during the Vietnam War, and was a retired school teacher; and

WHEREAS, Mr. Boyd departed this earthly life at the age of 65 on February 18, 2014, leaving his family, friends, and an entire community in solemn mourning; and

WHEREAS, in addition to his father, Mr. Boyd was preceded in death by a son, Sandy Boyd, Jr., and a sister, Mary Jane Bailey. In addition to his mother, he is survived by his loving wife, Toni Allen Boyd; three sons, Mitchell T. Boyd, Eric Allen Reid, and Jesse James Sword; four daughters, Stacy Boyd Akers, Brittany Boyd, Janie Lee Boyd, and Nichole Reid; three brothers, Randy, Tavis, and Billis Boyd; and nine grandchildren, Megan Dean, Shanan Akers, Shane Akers, Jordan Horne, Jackson Sword, Alexis Reid, Eric Reid, Raiden Reid, and Alora Reid;

NOW, THEREFORE,

Be it resolved by the Senate of the General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Kentucky:

Section 1. The members of the Senate, both individually and collectively, express their most profound and sincerest condolences upon the passing of Sandy Boyd, and extend their heartfelt sympathy to his family, friends, and community.

Section 2. When the Senate adjourns this day, it does so in honor and loving memory of Sandy Boyd.

Section 3. The Clerk of the Senate is directed to transmit a copy of this Resolution to Toni Allen Boyd, 4081 State Route 1426, Dana, Kentucky 41615.
