A RESOLUTION adjourning the Senate in honor and loving memory of John L. "Jack" Shea.

WHEREAS, John L. "Jack" Shea, a resident of Louisville, Kentucky, departed this life on December 3, 2013 at the age of 91; and

WHEREAS, Mr. Shea served his nation with honor during World War II as a naval aviator. He was stationed in the Aleutian Islands of Alaska and achieved the rank of Lieutenant; and

WHEREAS, Mr. Shea was a graduate of Male High School and the University of Louisville, where he was a founding member of the Tau Kappa Epsilon Fraternity; and

WHEREAS, Mr. Shea was the former owner of Allen M. Reager Company. He retired in 1986 and traveled extensively with his late wife, Maud. He was an avid golfer and a member of Wildwood Country Club; and

WHEREAS, Mr. Shea is survived by his two daughters, Patti Naiser and her husband, Nick, and Molly Rauh and her husband, Steve; and his sons, Mike, Jack and his wife, Lisa, Tim and his wife, Robin, and Brein and his wife, Ali. He is also survived by his sister, Betty Jane Cavin and her husband, Bill; and his brother Robert and his wife, Liz; his 20 grandchildren; and 20 great-grandchildren. In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by his parents, John and Lucille Shea; and his brother, Brigadier General William Shea;

NOW, THEREFORE,

Be it resolved by the Senate of the General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Kentucky:

âSection 1. The Senate hereby expresses its profound sense of sorrow upon learning of the passing of John L. Shea and extends its heartfelt condolences to his family and friends.

âSection 2. When the Senate adjourns this day, it does so in honor and loving memory of John L. Shea.

âSection 3. The Clerk of the Senate is directed to transmit five copies of this Resolution to Mr. Michael Shea, 229 Shelby Street, Frankfort, Kentucky 40601.
