A RESOLUTION adjourning the Senate in honor and loving memory of Col. (Ret.) Byron Douglas Crawford.
WHEREAS, Col. Byron Douglas Crawford was born in Renfro Valley, the beloved son of the late Jack Conn and Geneva Griffin Crawford; and
WHEREAS, Col. Byron Douglas Crawford was a graduate of Mount Vernon High School and Capital University; and
WHEREAS, Col. Byron Douglas Crawford was a proud veteran of the United States Army who attended Officer Candidate School and was the Chief of Staff of the 100th Division; and
WHEREAS, Col. Byron Douglas Crawford was the owner and operator of Crawford Dry Cleaners and Crawford Insurance Agency in Danville; and
WHEREAS, Col. Byron Douglas departed this earthly life on February 20, 2015, leaving his family, friends, and an entire community in solemn mourning; and
WHEREAS, Col. Byron Douglas was preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Jeanie Mullins. He is survived by his wife, Shelby; his daughter, Laura LaRue and her husband, Ben; his son, Stephen Crawford; his grandson, Jack Crawford; his granddaughters, Anna and Grace Crawford; his brothers, Jack Conn Crawford and his wife, Anna Mae, and Bill Crawford and his wife, Tabitha; four nieces; and two nephews;
NOW, THEREFORE,
Be it resolved by the Senate of the General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Kentucky:
âSection 1. The Senate hereby expresses its deepest and most sincere condolences upon the passing of Col. (Ret.) Byron Douglas Crawford, and extends its heartfelt sympathy to his family, friends, and community in this time of loss.
âSection 2. When the Senate adjourns this day, it does so in honor, loving memory, and appreciation of the service of Col. (Ret.) Byron Douglas Crawford.
âSection 3. The Clerk of the Senate is directed to transmit a copy of this Resolution to Senator Jimmy Higdon for delivery.
