A RESOLUTION adjourning the House of Representatives in honor and loving memory of Frank Owen Hinton.

WHEREAS, Frank Owen Hinton was a son of this Commonwealth, having been born in Plummers Mill on March 31, 1916, the cherished son of the late Frank Lambert and Ellora E. Helphinstine Hinton; and

WHEREAS, Frank Owen Hinton was a proud 1934 graduate of the Morehead State Normal School—Breckenridge High School. Upon graduation he joined his father in the family business, and went on to own and operate the four Hinton Mills stores, and upon his retirement he passed them down to the next generation of Hintons; and

WHEREAS, Frank Owen Hinton served for the Army Air Corps as a supply sergeant in World War II, as the postmaster of Plummers Landing from 1956 to 1993, and as the director of Farmers Home Mutual Insurance for more than four decades; and

WHEREAS, a Kentucky Colonel and a faithful Christian, Frank Owen Hinton was a member of the Shiloh United Methodist Church, where he was the church treasurer; and

WHEREAS, Frank Owen Hinton departed this earthly life and entered the kingdom of Heaven on March 12, 2014, leaving all those who had been touched by his presence in solemn mourning; and

WHEREAS, Frank Owen Hinton was preceded in death by his parents; his first wife, Maxine Morrison Hinton; and his siblings, Eugene Hinton, Eulene Hensley, Ruby Spradling, and Golda Miller. He is survived by his wife, Gail Claypool Hinton; his children, Jane Lands (George), Frank L. "Bud" Hinton (Paula), Elaine Logan (Donald), Jenny Perkins (Ferman), and Shane Moran (John); his grandchildren, Susan Ellis, Russell Burchett, Matthew Hinton (Karina), Adam Hinton (Melissa), Nathan Hinton, Donald L. Logan, Andrew Logan (Amanda), Jody Perkins (Christy), Allison Manning (Tim), Jill Meadows (Matthew), Taylor Cox, and J.W. Cox; and 12 great-grandchildren;

NOW, THEREFORE,

Be it resolved by the House of Representatives of the General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Kentucky:

Section 1. The members of the House of Representatives hereby express their most profound and sincere condolences upon the passing of Frank Owen Hinton, and extend their heartfelt sympathy to his family in this time of loss.

Section 2. When the House of Representatives adjourns this day, it does so in honor and loving memory of Frank Owen Hinton.

Section 3. The Clerk of the House of Representatives is directed to transmit a copy of this Resolution to Representative Mike Denham for delivery.
