Chairman Warren Stolp called the regular meeting of the Town of Nashwauk to order on Tuesday, April 18, 2017 at 7:04 PM in the Nashwauk Township Community Center. Members present: Warren Stolp, Marc Engel, Robert Coughlin and Nichole Place. Members absent: Karine Woodman.

A motion was made by Stolp and seconded by Coughlin to approve the treasurer’s report as read. Total receipts: $93,934.61. Total disbursements: $36,070.79. Total ending balance for the month: $809,426.49. Motion carried unanimously.

A motion was made by Stolp and seconded by Engel to approve the clerk’s minutes of the last regular meeting, 3-23-17 special meeting,City of Nashwauk written minutes for special meeting 2-8-2017 and the 4-7-17 road meeting. Motion carried unanimously.

A motion was made by Coughlin and seconded by Engle to approve and pay all claims presented to the board for payment. Motion carried unanimously.

OLD BUSINESS:

1.  A discussion was held regarding the status of the Bougalis Construction bill for the wood stove. Coughlin gave a report and approved it for payment. Coughlin will also check on a price to replace the stove however we would look the $4000 rebate that was received on our purchase (should we decide to return it).

2.  A discussion was held on the renewal of the website hosting package with Network Solutions.
*Motion by Stolp, seconded by Engle to renew the hosting package with Network Solutions for $411.00. Motion carried unanimously.

3.  The garden club inquired about installing 2 flower boxes and make a garden for the Nashwauk Township Community Center. They will come back to the meeting in May with additional information.

4.  No other old business was brought forward for discussion.

NEW BUSINESS:

1.  A discussion was held regarding the electrical quotes provided for service to the new garage door openers.
*Motion by Stolp, seconded by Coughlin to approve the quote from USA Electric in the amount of _____. Motion carried unanimously.

2.  *Motion by _____, seconded by _____ to approve resolution 01-2017 in support of the City of Nashwauk Recreation Complex upgrades. Motion carried unanimously.

3.  A discussion was held regarding the donation requests from the annual meeting. It was decided to table the issue until the May meeting.

The meeting went to closed session to discuss the applicants for both the Hall Caretaker position and the Township Foreman position at 7:35 pm.

The meeting reopened from closed session at 8:15pm.

4.  *Motion by Stolp, seconded by Engle to hire Michelle Carroll as the new hall caretaker with a pay of $500.00 per month. Motion carried unanimously.

5.  The Township Foreman position interviews will be held at a special meeting scheduled for Monday, April 24th, 2017 at 4:00pm.
*Motion by Stolp, seconded by Coughlin to hold a special meeting on Monday, April 24th, 2017 at 4:00pm to interview candidates for the Township Foreman position. Motion carried unanimously.

6.  A discussion was held regarding pay for the previous treasurer Amber Goss. It was decided to pay her by the hour at $15.00 per hour.
*Motion by Engle, seconded by Stolp to pay Amber Goss at $15.00 per hour for hours worked in training/assisting the new treasurer Nichole Place. Motion carried unanimously.

8.  Discussed additional business:

a.  Jeff Ekholm wanted to purchase 25 more chairs for the community center. The clerk will need to look into our last purchase and get price for the next meeting.

b.  The Endowment Fund wants to donate the remaining bank balance in the amount of $___ to the township. A transfer to our account will need to be done.

With no further business to discuss, a motion was made by Stolp and seconded by Engle to adjourn at 8:20 PM. Motion carried unanimously.

The next regular meeting will be on Tuesday, May 9, 2017 at 7:00 PM in the Nashwauk Township Community Center.
