A Message to All Grads of 2017

We are currently "pencilled in" for our Grad Banquet at the Delta Grand for next spring, on the Sunday of the May long weekend (Sunday, May 21st). After this year's event and following debrief discussions with our current Grad Council, two things have come to light:

1) All grads on our council this year felt that having a banquet on the May long weekend created a false sense of "ending" for their grade 12 year. They felt that this celebration was too soon, and in a way anticlimactic, considering they still had a month of studies left. Grad council also supported the idea of hosting the entire grad event (ceremony and banquet) over ONE weekend, which would mean less travel for family members wishing to attend.

2)Many felt that the cost of banquet tickets (75$ each, which covers meal/rental/set up of technical equipment etc. supplied by the Grand) was very steep.

There are few options for venues which will seat 450 + people – the Grand being the only indoor, full service venue of that size. We will be having our Cap and Gown Ceremony on Friday, June 23 at the school, and have an option listed below, for holding the Grad Banquet on the same weekend as Cap and Gown. Please discuss this with your parents/guardians then mark your preferred choice by ordering the two options: 1st choice/ 2nd choice.

______Keep the banquet date/price as is, at the Delta Grand on Sunday, May 21st of the long weekend, with a Grad Ceremony on Friday June June 23rd @ 6PM followed by Dry Grad celebrations. Tickets for the banquet will be $75.00.

______Hold the Grad ceremony on Friday, June 23 @ 6 PM, followed by Dry Grad, and plan a Grad Banquet at Hillcrest Farms (Hwy 33) on Sunday, June 25. This is an outdoor venue, overlooking all of Kelowna (stunning view), with event tenting and fully catered. This is a popular spot for weddings and large gatherings. The website is Anticipated pricing would be more in line with $60.00 per ticket, but would definitely be less than 75$ per person.
