  2. Informational Item
  1. Religious Organizations in the CSU Forum
  2. President is planning to host a forum open to all CSU Channel Islands students to discuss the non-discriminatory clause recently addressed by the CSU and how Student Government plans to assist non-recognized groups to carry out missions that are integral to the educational experience of involved students.
  3. President Bahena explained Executive Order 1068 and how that applies to our campus and how it has affected our religious organizations at Channel Islands. She explained that some of our religious organizations did not seek recognition because they did not want to include the non-discrimination clause in their constitution. Vanessa will be planning a forum for our religious organizations to come together and discuss this so that they know they are still supported by the students here at Channel Islands, and by Student Government.
  4. Discussion Item
  5. SB 967 Read Through and Interpretation
  6. This discussion is to ensure that Student Government members understand the language and message behind legislation regarding Title IX and AB 967. Student Government will discuss the message they would like to disseminate regarding these issues.
  7. President Bahena explained that she wants to make sure Student Government members have actually read SB 967 so that when members go out and speak to the campus community they are dispersing accurate information and can combat myths about the bill.
  1. Its On Us Plan of Action: Roundtables, Passive Events, Video Campaign, Campus Marketing
  2. The Executive Branch will finalize a plan of action to the Its On Us CI campaign.
  3. President Bahena explained that she is planning round tables and inviting specific groups to have a conversation about Sexual Assault.
  4. President Bahena shared the script for Student Government’s It’s On Us Campaign Video and members signed up
  5. After the Student Government video we will be making a campus wide video, but the script will include input from the clubs and orgs in the video
  6. The next step will be a ‘call out’ in which clubs and organizations call out other clubs and orgs to make a video to talk about sexual assault.
  7. Roundtable 1: Let’s Talk About Sex Over Pizza – sex in general, what is sexual assault?
  8. Roundtable 2: We Are Targets, We Are Solutions – how can organization leaders facilitate change
  9. Roundtable 3 – Marketing and send out
  10. Student Government Members will be going out to clubs and organizations to get feedback and to host conversations
  11. Chavez: How are we going to get clubs to stay? How do we show them how important it is for them to be a part of this conversation?
  12. Eli: For sex over pizza we are challenging clubs and organizations to be there
  13. Chavez: We should hand out free condoms, use a prize wheel with fun informational facts
  14. Sanders: We should plan these events around It’s On Us Week, also if we are handing out free condoms we should use it as a marketing tool
  15. Sanders: What are the passive events?
  16. Bahena: I don’t have those planned out yet.
  17. Eli: What all will happen with the recording?
  18. Bahena: We will be blasting that information out via social media.
  19. Hatfield: We should be careful about over-blasting information. Perhaps we should space all this information out, and make sure that people aren’t tuning us out.
  20. Bahena: This will all be spanned out over the rest of this semester and into next semester.
  21. Hatfield: We should create a timeline. Suggestion: November – It’s On Us Video, December – SABUL, January – Call out to clubs
  22. Bahena: Wanted to collect your buy in before creating a timeline.
  23. Chavez: We should take the It’s On Us logo and put out school logo in it. Show students all the celebrities who are participating, it’s more than just our campus taking part in this.
  24. Hatfield: We should look into federal grants.
  1. Executive Meeting Rescheduling
  2. Due to scheduling with the Student Advisory Board for University Life, it is not ideal for the Executive Branch to meet at the current scheduled date. The Executive Branch will decide on a future meeting time.
  3. President Bahena explained that though this was the set time, and the time that everyone committed to be present at executive meetings but SABUL meetings and committee meetings are at this time so when could we reschedule?
  4. Salgado: Perhaps in the evenings
  5. Hatfield: Preferably not Wednesdays, those are long days
  6. Reyna: Tuesdays from 6-7?
  7. Salgado: Any evening except Tuesday
  8. Thursdays: 5:30 – 6:30 p.m.
  9. Bahena: I will send a doodle with Thursdays from 5:30-6:30 and our current meeting time to choose.

Its important to tell our students that parking is costing a lot but it is helping our university and helping expand parking. Short term 1-5 years Is housing expansion, Uglen housing expansion, health and recreation. They are getting out to the community to try and get the name out there and say CI is here. Midterm projects also include expansion. They want to present to the BOT to get some of the trustee owned land on campus to build revenue.
