A Letter to All 2010-2011 Woodstock Basketball Family Members-

FROM:Head Boys Coach - Sean GlazeWoodstock Tip-Off Club President – Rick Templeton

Head Girls Coach - Julie CroweWoodstock Tip-Off Club Treasurer- Jim Penn

With try-outs and team selections just a short time away, we would like to call your attention to some very important financial information for our basketball program. We are sharing upcoming financial expectations with you so that everyone will have advance notice prior to our annual “Tip-Off” dinner in November. At that meeting, each player’s family is encouraged to participate financially by joining our booster club at one of three possible membership levels- White, Navy, or Cardinal. (Details about these contributions are listed below).

Woodstock High School and the CCBOE are responsible for providing safe and useable facilities for athletes to compete, along with referees and security. All other features and benefits of the program, is made possible by funds raised and administered by our Booster Club.

The Woodstock Basketball Booster Club would like to thank you in advance for your support during the 2009-2010 Wolverine Basketball season. We are looking forward to an exciting and successful season of Wolverine Basketball and we are pleased to have coaches Sean Glaze and Julie Crowe leading our program.

Participation on a high school athletic team is a privilege and a great experience for a student-athlete, and we are proud of all of our players and coaches. Our primary goal as a booster club is:

To support the players, the coaches, and the administration of Woodstock with our time, financial resources, and encouragements to ensure a successful basketball program for our student-athletes.

Parental support is our key in doing this, and Basketball Booster Club members contribute to the support of the basketball organization here at Woodstock by providing:

* Player practice and game uniforms (home and away)

* Player gear package - player gets to keep these items (t-shirt, shoes, sweatshirt, etc.)

* Basketballs, scorebooks, video equipment, DVDs’, etc.

* Gym floor maintenance and cleaning

* “The Gun” shooting machine purchase and repairs / maintenance

* Coaches gear, membership fees to the GHSA / GACA, and coaching clinic fees

* Tournament fees and travel expenses

* Year-end banquet and awards for players and coaches - others are required to pay.

* Locker room furniture and decoration / signs / whiteboards, etc.

* Concession stand equipment and supplies

*Transportation expenses for county bus, as per CCBOE mandate

To provide this support, each family is expected to join the booster club!

Again, parental support is our key to a successful season. These basketball fees provide the equipment and services listed above, but we also need your time and participation in the various committees and activities that are the backbone of this organization. There are never enough volunteers and numerous opportunities exist for you to participate at whatever level you can contribute!

Along with the financial membership commitment each family will be required to work in the concession stand, and members are encouraged to attend every booster club meeting and assist with a fundraiser, banquet, tournament, or other volunteer opportunity. You will never be asked to work while your child is playing - you will be able to sign-up for the work slots so it fits your schedule and resources…

THANK YOU IN ADVANCE FOR YOUR SUPPORT AND COOPERATION!

We hope you will make every effort to attend Tip-Off Dinner this year with your family-

We will have our annual meal, introductions, and coaches comments on Nov. 20th!
