Reaching Chinese consumers through the use of physical and digital marketing platforms of commodity trading markets in China

Summary

Since the early 1980s, commodity trading markets have served as one of the most important distribution channels of both consumer and producer commodities for rural villages, towns and cities in the major provinces of China. These commodity trading markets, which have internationalised in the past two decades, have been playing an important role in promoting international trade between China and the rest of world.

The joint seminar will inform the business community in the East Midlands region of the evolution and digitalization of commodity trading markets in China and help the enterprises in East Midland region to enter the Chinese market and increase their sales through the use of physical and digital marketing platforms offered by the local commodity trading markets. The participants will also have an opportunity to learn the operation of Royal Mail Store on Tmall Global, Consumer Protection Law in China and the latest regulation on cross-border e-commerce imposed by China Customs.
