JMK Presents a Quality and Diversified Roster of Exhibitors

A roster of 70 high end dealers will exhibit a diversified range of quality antiques at the new White Plains Antiques Show at Westchester County Center on February 12-13, 2011 announced Allison Kohler, Director of JMK Shows & Events. The prestige event will feature a range of merchandise in fully walled fine quality settings. Shoppers can feather their nests from floor to ceiling from an exciting list of categories that include Oriental rugs, prints, Chinese porcelains, country and formal furnishings, Americana, French textiles and decorative accessories, chandeliers, silver, glass, ceramics, fine jewelry, art pottery, clocks, Asian antiques, and more.

“White Plains is populated with discerning consumers who have very strong interest in antiques,” commented Kohler. “We are pleased to bring a fine antiques show back to this part of Westchester County and we expect the public to react strongly to this event.” The Westchester County Center is conveniently located at 198 Central Avenue in White Plains, New York, just off the Bronx River Parkway and only 35 minutes by car from New York City.

JMK Shows was established in 1972 by Rona and Jesse Kohler to bring better quality, affordable antiques to the collecting public. “We take pride in what we do, and how we do it,” added Kohler. “The public’s trust in JMK’s shows and its exhibitors is very important to us.” To re-enforce that trust, the White Plains Antiques Show will provide a certified appraisal clinic for the public’s use at five dollars per item, as well as museum quality restoration services. Glass restorations will be provided by Paul Nulton and expert porcelain and pottery restoration by Louis. Visiting the show will be educational and enjoyable as well as a friendly and exciting experience.

Many exhibitors are well known to show-goers and include Bruce and Deborah Philips of Fair Trade Antiques. Hailing from Heath, Massachusetts, the couple sells magnificent Anglo-Raj furniture and accessories from India (1757-1947). Their selection gleams with an assortment of noble hardwoods including rosewood, teak, satinwood, camphor, and mahogany. Eighteenth and nineteenth century Americana and folk art are the specialties of Melissa Bourque Antiques. Painted furniture and accessories, high country and formal furniture, and period paintings and watercolors are classic items in her inventory. David & Donna Kmetz will be bringing paintings by listed American artists from the late nineteenth to the mid-twentieth century with an emphasis on New England Impressionism. Alfred Ordway, Charles DeWolf Brownell, Oliver Clare, and Harry Hoffman are artists regularly represented in their inventory. Focus on twentieth century design can be found in the booth of Leonard Davenport Fine Art, particularly post World War II ceramics, glass, paintings, and sculpture. Leonard will be bringing a 1970 black-stamped Andy Warhol flowers graphic and significant work by Sydney Gross and Johann Berthelsen.
