A.B.A.T.E. of Illinois Web Site Guidelines

This guideline has been designed for the A.B.A.T.E. of Illinois State and chartered Chapter web sites to follow in order for A.B.A.T.E. of Illinois to conform to Local, State and Federal guidelines. It is also persistent to the by-laws and reputation of A.B.A.T.E. of Illinois.

While some of the items listed in this guideline are for reference, some items will be strictly enforced by the A.B.A.T.E. of Illinois E-Board, State Board, and Technology Advisory Panel and or it’s Legal Representative.

1. Web Site Responsibility

1.1State Web Site

The A.B.A.T.E. of Illinois state web site shall conform and maintain to all the regulations pertained in this document. The Technology Advisory Panel and it’s Legal representative’s shall maintain and take corrective action where as needed whether it be the State Web Pages or Chapter Web Pages.

The State web site is the responsibility of the A.B.A.T.E. of Illinois E-Board, State Board of Directors, and or the Technology Advisory Panel.

All postings / changes to the A.B.A.T.E. of Illinois state Web Site shall be done by the Technology Advisory Panel Webmaster or other authorized persons assigned by the Technology Advisory Panel or E-Board.

1.2Chapter Web Sites

Any and all chartered chapter web masters with a chapter / chapter presidents authorization must be a member of the Technology Advisory Panel e-mail listing. It is with this method that updates and notifications of important information relating to the A.B.A.T.E. of Illinois Web Site, Server and policy changes pertaining to chapter web sites will be used.

All chartered chapter web sites are the responsibility of the Chapter and its Board. No one person belonging to a chapter of A.B.A.T.E. of Illinois will have complete control. It is the responsibility of the chartered Chapter board of directors to maintain a high level of integrity and over see the present’s / quality of such site.

All postings / changes should be reviewed for content so as to not disrupt / damage the reputation of such chapter or A.B.A.T.E. of Illinois and its other chartered chapters.

2. Web Site Information

2.1Disclosure

No hardware and or software shall be described, shared, and or posted on or from the A.B.A.T.E. of Illinois web server without prior authorization from the State Board of Directors or the Technology Advisory Panel. All information pertaining to the server and or its hardware / software and or location is strictly confidential.

Information regarding sponsors, webmaster or posted Technology Advisory Panel members is acceptable for public knowledge.

2.2Articles and Letters

All articles, letters and other media must have a motorcycle related reference. Other organizations and or charities supported / sponsored by A.B.A.T.E. of Illinois and such chapters will verify authorization for reprinted material and or graphics not owned by A.B.A.T.E. of Illinois and or such chartered chapters.

No article, letter or any other media shall be posted whereas it to be questionable or deliberate personal attacks, profanities, or issues not related to motorcycling.

All information posted on the web site must be the facts or opinions of A.B.A.T.E. of Illinois and or the chartered Chapters.

Letters of opinions received from A.B.A.T.E. of Illinois members may be posted for public display with the permission of the writer and maintains a high quality of standards. No profanity will be tolerated.

2.3Advertisements

No advertisement or links to other web sites will be acceptable if it contains material that is not consistent with A.B.A.T.E. of Illinois mission statement and or goals.

Local sponsors are encouraged. (To be safe you may use the links off of the state site.)

2.4Personal Information

The chapter Website should include a local officers listing so long as the individuals authorize being on such list.

2.4.1Phone and Address Information

No A.B.A.T.E. of Illinois member lists shall be available at any time on chapter web sites.

A.B.A.T.E. of Illinois will make such listings available in limited records to authorized chartered chapter board members where as a secured location and transmitted channel becomes available.

2.5Financial information

The posting of financial information on the internet for A.B.A.T.E. of Illinois and or its chartered chapters is strictly prohibited

2.6Political Information

2.6.1FED-PAC

All FED-PAC advertisements and event postings are not allowed per FCC regulations whereas any and all non-members can access such information.

A.B.A.T.E. of Illinois will make such postings available to authorized members where as a secured location and transmitted channel becomes available.

2.6.2Endorsements

Endorsements of federal candidates is prohibited per FCC regulations. This includes any and all links or references to federal candidates web sites.

2.7Web Links

2.7.1State Web Site

The Technology Advisory Panel lists links to chapter Websites by request or discovery.

All links on the state web site will be reviewed by the Technology Advisory Panel for approval and maintain in accordance with sections 2.3 and 2.6.2

2.7.2General Reference

Web links whether an http: or graphic link shall maintain all product and restrictions set forth in accordance to the site the link in question is referenced.

No chapter or the A.B.A.T.E. of Illinois state site will willfully violate any copyright.

All web links (created in any form) shall be to a motorcycle related site, State or chapter supported charity and be consistent with the reputation, commitment and quality of A.B.A.T.E. of Illinois
