Have a suitable Teaching & Assessing Qualification
Possession of a Mentoring Course
Able to demonstrate academic learning at level 3 / Post registration clinical qualification in Neurosurgical Care / Critical Care / Trauma Care
Professional and personal development related to clinical area/care group.
Formal leadership and management training / A/I
Previous Experience / Significant post registration experience within a Neurosurgical, Critical Care or Trauma environment
Experience of working and supporting families making difficult and life changing decisions in the acute setting and beyond / Experience of working in a senior nurse or specialist nurse role
Evidence of Continuing Professional Development.
Experience of managing non-clinical staff and other professionals / A/I
Skills & Abilities / Ability to demonstrate sound judgement and collaborative working in a large multidisciplinary team
Ability to develop services and lead on service improvements and evaluations
Ability to develop educational programs / training for patients, families and staff
Ability to set up and lead on patient and family support / follow up clinics
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Ability to present ideas with clarity and in a persuasive and influential style
Ability to deal with conflict
Ability to provide focused support to families and staff / Ability to demonstrate familiarity with information technology
